9XR with or without M128 chip? How can I find out?

I got my 9XR from HK last year and finally got round to trying to update the FW. I've downloaded and installed Companion9X and I am trying to figure out how to flash the 9XR with Open Tx. When I launch Companion9X then go to Preferences there is a drop down selection box called "Fimware". For the 9XR there are two options:

openTx for 9XR
openTx for 9XR with M128 chip

How do I find out if my 9XR has a M128 chip :?:

Either open the radio or simply try to configure normal and try to read the eeprom,
If it can read is a M64, otherway if you get a signature error it's likely a M128

If you got it last year it's most likely an m64. HK started shipping them with m128s in April or so.

M64 has 16 models and M128 has 30.

Is that true with the stock firmware that ships on the 9XR ?
Did they start shipping with a different firmware ?

I hadnt thought they ever even listed the spec of the MCU, let alone updated it
I dont see an updated source

thanks

No, AFAIK HK supply the M128 versions with the same firmware as the M64s, i.e. they don't make use of the extra memory.
