Where to find parts? Refactoring your entire transmitter, new cases? Sticks etc..

M1281 upgrade to Turnigy 9x

Post by andrewju »

Hi,

A friend of mine has just upgraded his stock 9x with an Atmega 1281. He has set the fuses to 0e:89:ff and flashed a the latest er9x-128.hex. The radio flashed Ok, but there is nothing on the screen when radio is powered on. We just tried flashing er9x-2561.hex, but the behavior is the same.

BTW, in eePe itself it's not very clear what firmware to choose for a 1281... Is it supported at all?

Update: the guy changed m1281 to a 'traditional' m128 and it worked fine. So it's either his 1281 chip is faulty, or something is wrong with the SW (or maybe fuse settings?)...

He can still put this problematic m1281 to another radio, if some testing is needed... Still curious if we did something wrong while programming, or if it's just a bad chip...

The '1281 is not specifically supported.
er9x-128 won't work on a '1281.
I would have thought the '2561 version might have worked.
The fuses should be DE D1 FC for the '2561, and probably the '1281. There is a correct fuse setting in eepe for the '2561.

Thanks, Mike!

We'll give it a try some time, in order to recheck if er9x is working on 1281.
I'll post here when I get any news.
