Re: Extra 3 position switch
Anyone have a source for a small 5 or 6 position rotary switch to replace one of the aux pots? Maybe one with 2 separate switch sections so I can switch resistor values and LEDs separate but in the same switch.

Great Idea, but:
Just to add an reminder:
ALWAYS CALIBRATE THE STIKS AND POTS IF YOU CHANGED, ADDED OR MODIFIED ONE OF THEM
kind regards,

Extra 3 position switch
The above method supports calibration nicely as when i replaced the pot with the 6 pos switch but only enabled 5 pos the 3(center) pos is at 0.Helle wrote:And here some more

Regardless, calibration will set that accordingly anyway as there are only 5 positions.
Let me know if you have any questions if you should decide to do this mod. I actually just bought another radio and am going todo the mod again on my new t9x on route.
Cheers.

Re: Extra 3 position switch
I'm preparing to do the mod for an extra 3-way switch, thanks everyone for your schematics and other input!
Regarding the 2.2K resistors; do they need to be 1/2 or 1/4 watts?

Re: Extra 3 position switch
1/4 is what I used. Works fine.

Re: Extra 3 position switch
In a 5 volt circuit the most a 2K2 resistor could consume would be .011 watts , so 1/4 watt is more than enough.

Re: Extra 3 position switch
Others beat me to it but here's the math.
1/4 watt is fine.
No real power issue. Your starting with 5v and power would be E squared divided by R.
P= 5x5/ R total is
25/R = total wattage
25/2200= .011 watts
Very helpful diagram
