Nice!

Can you give us some more details on the internal wiring?

Sure. I will try. But beware ... my English is not the best.

LED_MOD:

I take the original HK Backlight ( blue ). The contrast on the Blue Backlight is not good enough for me. So i decide to replace the LED´s on the Backlight. I buy some 0603 green LED´s and replace it with the original LED.

Because i use a 2S Lipo i must change the resistor on the original LED Connector from HK. I add a transistor to the Connector and so the firmware switch the backlight on and off.

Spektrum MOD:

For the Spektrum MOD i take ane extra 3,3V Regulator because i use the "big" spektrum TX11 Module and the onboard 3,3V Regulator on the 9x board can not deliver the current the spektrum module needs. For Level Shifting i use a Resistor Level Shifter with 10k and 20k.

Switching HF Module:

For switching between HF Modules i use a standard 2way switch. I switch the + and ppm signal. I put a led to the + from the HF Module. When i switch on once Module the LED for the Module is on too.

USBASP MOD:

I install a usbasp and connect it to the usb connector which is located in the battery case. Flashing is very fast and works with eepe wonderful.

Looks great !
Thanks for the write up and pics. I am slowly working up to getting mine going.

glad you put that part in there because when I read the various guides I missed this. Most mentioned a diode and I was wrongly thinking it was for polarity and not to drop the voltage. I did get a 3.3v reg. for the power but had overlooked the signal level difference. thanks again

Kayle, sorry, I missed a couple detail explanations.... It looks like you lost a pot? Are you gonna replace it?? And how did you do that label that is on the front. Do you also have a led for frsky when it is activated? would it be ok to just put a led on the ppm between the flysky ppm out and the dsm...sig in?? (low power is fine for me.)

How did you attach the dsm board? hot glue? did you put something between the two boards.

Really nice work by the way. green with envy.! Glad I could look so I know the benchmark!

no more quippy little latin phrases.! Its old

It looks like you lost a pot? Are you gonna replace it??
Yes. At the moment there are only 2 pots on my Eurgle. I will replace it with a switch. I don´t need a third pot. Two are enough for me.
And how did you do that label that is on the front.
I removed the original label and scan it to my pc. Then i rework it in GIMP with my own text.
Do you also have a led for frsky when it is activated?
Yes. When FrSky is activated a blue led is on.
would it be ok to just put a led on the ppm between the flysky ppm out and the dsm...sig in?? (low power is fine for me.)
I would not connect a led to the PPM Signal. Use the + Supply from the activated HF Module.
How did you attach the dsm board? hot glue? did you put something between the two boards.
I attach the dsm Board with dobble Sided mirror tape.

Looks quite amazing! What is the green board above the dsm module for?

Also, what type of switch do you use to switch both ppm and + for the modules? I use an DPDT switch but seeings the spektrum takes 3.3v and frsky the 5v I don't see how it'd be possible to switch both ppm and + on one switch.

hi,

the green board over the dsm module is the frsky rs232 to ttl converter.

You must use a switch with 6 pins to switch 3,3V and 5V.

I use a switch with 3pins.

The 5v goes to the middle pin.

One side of the switch goes to the rear module to supply it with 5v.

The other side goes to the 3.3v regulator to power the DSM module and a LED indicator.

So then do you use another switch to switch ppm between the two modules?

EDIT: Daryoon, that sounds like a decent way to do it. Thanks for the idea. :)

Hi Guys,

I tried leaving the USBASP inside the transmitter and connected but when powering up the TX it says "loading model 1" on the lcd screen.
Once the USBASP is disconnected, the TX powers up normally. This happened like this on 2 different TX.
What am I doing wrong?
I really would like to leave the USBASP inside and connected.

Greetz,

It seems that the different USBASP boards work slightly differently. You might try getting another cheap one and see if it gives you the same problem. The worst case scenario is that you end up with a 5$ spare. A lot of people on this board are using built in USBASP without problems.

Most (but not all) USBASP boards have a jumper for providing currently to the external system or not. Try changing this, if you have it. My USBASP gets powered by the TX and is always on. This is not what I expected, but I have resigned since it doesn't seem to cause problems.
