Unisens-E for FrSky / OpenTX

Post by Spoogy »

Hi,

I haven't notice any discussion about this Unisens-E sensor here 9x forums. Could it be possible to get this working with FrSky/OpenTX or ER9X?

I saw this in my flying club buddy sailplane with Multiplex radio. It's awesome. All needed information in a one tiny package.

http://www.sm-modellbau.de/shop/product ... 7&cPath=18

complete measurement of electric drives with current, voltage, power, capacity, speed and height measurement

integrated brushless speed sensor

full telemetry support for Jeti Duplex (EX), Multiplex M-Link, HoTT Graupner, Futaba and JR DMSS FASSTest S.BUS2

barometric Vario

Current measuring range up to 140 A in both directions, voltage up to 60 V

etc...

Hmm I think it's the other way around, the manufacturer of that sensor would need to add support for FrSky protocol to it...

You should ask them too.

With taranis coming out, they would be silly not too!

Hi,

Where do we can get that FrSky protocol specs.? I could send those to sm-modellbau and ask if they could add a support for it.

And I would be pleased if someone originally from Germany could assists, because I heard that people behind sm-modellbau doesn't speak (or read) english. Atleast not so good. And anyway it would be nice to approach them with their own language. :)

Note that this is for the existing D8 receivers. The new smart port spec hasn't been published yet.

Hi,

I received a message from modellblau and they said:

we do not have plans to support the FrSky System at the moment.

That's all. :(

I still liked to ask why, but it doesn't matter as this stage because they have made their decision already so, let it be....

So, no UniSens-e sensor for FrSky. Let's do our own. :)

Yes they've added support a month ago or so. Several guys on RCG have some now.

Hi,

Long time since I have been reading / posting to this forum but I can confirm, support to UniSens-E for FrSky is added.

Today I just tested one. Just plugged in cables and everything was working instantly out of the box. At the on table tests, vario seems to be great. And it's very great to have all needed telemetry values in that one tiny package. Also it handles big currents very well.

So even thought, they said they will not be adding it at that moment when I requested it and send those specs of FrSky protocol for them, they still did it. :) That's great and I already send a thanks -letter for them. :)
