Edit:
Seeing all your posts I see you're confused. I'll try to explain a bit.
The difference between the "main" version (er9x.hex) and the FrSky version (er9x-frsky.hex) is the ability to receive data from the module.
In order to do that we need to modify the board in the method you posted above. Once you do this mod you have to use the FrSky version, even if you do not use the telemetry features.
Also, in order to be able to "talk" to the module you have to build/buy a level converter and install it between the module and board. This converter reduces the voltage from the module to the levels used by the board.
All the technical details are outlined by the page listed above. It takes a bit of reading, be patient, you'll get it.
Also, let's keep the comments and questions to this thread so we don't bother any other threads, ok?

the 2 added wires are for the switches...ail and thr right?
After this mod,ill recover the same functions as before...Right ?
But...if i want to go back to simple ER9X fw,will the 2 switches work normally like before doing the mod ?
thanks a lot

Re: this i understand but...
The two firmwares function the same. The FrSky version expects to have the hardware mod in place.

Ah....
If you are field display that frsky sell to attach to your radio:
http://www.frsky-rc.com/ShowProducts.asp?id=104
then you do not even need to use the FRSKY version of the firmware.
You stick with the stock firmware.
The FRSKY Version of the firmware, coupled with the mods, replaces this unit and brings it all 'in-house' and on the radio.

Re: this i understand but...
Actually.... it is very different!
This version included the transmitter module on the unit. What you have to do is wire the cable provided into the ppm/power outputs on the transmitters back board.
This is an easy job to do.

Re: this i understand but...
I installed the DHT-U on one of my er9x radios and I might like it. There is absolutely squat for documentation -- so I'm not sure I understand how to program the alarms yet. However, one thing I KNOW I'm not going to like is the alarm is SO QUIET. I want an alarm that will jump up punch me so I hear it. I understand that hardware mods are required to get telemetry display on the 9x radio -- but are hardware mods required to get the alarms? I figure probably yes, because the FrSky9x is expecting those hardware mods in order to run. I went for the DHT-U because I wanted the display at the top of my transmitter -- it's too difficult to see the bottom while flying for a person with my primitive skills.
So.. somebody tell me I'm out of luck on FrSky9x - I'm expecting that - and then maybe how to mod the DHT-U to get a (much) louder alarm. And while yer at it. If anybody knows of a repository of FrSky knowledge to read I'd sure like to find it. Their manuals are really weak.
