TGY 9X and Smartieparts Basic.

Post by Cosmos42 »

Greetings,
I have a 2010 model of the TGY 9X and need to determine if it has either V1 or V2 firmware. There's a Youtube video which says it can be identified by the position of a solder pad on the PC board just below the CPU, ie if the pad is by the 6th pin from the right it is a V2. If the solder pad is by the 8th pin from the right it is a V1. Here is that Youtube video: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoMfiyEBfnA&t=15s).
My 9X has the pad beside the 6th pin so would appear to be a V2. The only writing/numbers I can find on the PC board are in the bottom-right corner: 'FS-TH9 MAIN V1 4' which might suggest that my 9X is a V1 model. I need certainty...!
I'm hoping to install a Smartieparts 'Basic' board into the 9x. Please, can anyone advise? Thanks.

The pad/pin it connects to is what counts.

Kilrah,
Many thanks. That helps me to feel a bit more confident.
