Where did you purchase the haptic vibration motors? The push buttons? Source and cost?
Thanks.

"Unfortunately, 6BA screws are a bit hard to come by in the US. Do you think M2.5 or M3 screws will work? They are a bit easier to find. "

Another option that was worked well for me is to drill and tap for 3mm. This avoids splitting the fragile posts. Then the much easier to find 3mm bolts can be used.

Thanks for the info for the vibration motors and oush buttons. Already on order. Just a few more questions about materials.
1. Where to order the copper clad PC boards for the pushbuttons?
2. What is the diode specs for reverse polarity expansion?
3. Where to order connectors for 9Extreme pc board if one doesnt order the Teranis gimbals?
Thanks.

Bought them from an online shop here in germany. Reichelt
2. What is the diode specs for reverse polarity expansion?
Diodes datasheets attached to this post.
3. Where to order connectors for 9Extreme pc board if one doesnt order the Teranis gimbals?
If you don't want to replace the 9x gimbals you just connect the stock connectors to the 9Xtreme, Please refer to the 9xtreme website for detailed instasllation guide..

Thanks again for the info. Again one more question.

For the reverse polarity protection diode shown in your photo on the first page of this thread (circuit board FS-TH9-FRONT) what are its specs?
Thanks.

Hello Joao,
From my previous note I as referring to the 9 pin connectors that are connected to the 9x main board allowing access to XT1...EXT8 for switches, pushbuttons & sliders. Where do you get the 9 pin connectors if you don't use Tyrannis gimbals and cut off its 9 pin connectors? Are these just Molex type of connectors? That can be ordered from Molex suppliers? Thanks.

Hello Joao,
From your note on June 4th concerning the protection Schottky diode what diode did you order?

There are two types: MBA340T3 or MBA340T3G?

Thanks

Hi i have done this mod and would like to know if its safe to use a djt module like that. With this, the DJT will have a connection to the 5th pin and simultaneously to the back plug for the telemetry (rx/tx).

Any precise info would be appreciated.

There's typically an inverter to wire in there. If you refer to a mod that doesn't need one, say so and link to it.

You may wire the telemetry Tx signal from the DJT directly to the 9Xtreme (no inverter needed for the 9Xtreme).
The 9Xtreme has a 1K resistor in the telemetry signal to limit current flow and a clamp diode to handle the negative voltage from the RS232 signal from the DJT.
Assuming the black and white wires are plugged in to the rear of the DJT, this is correct.
With the black wire also connected to pin 5 (bottom pin) of the module connector, this would allow an XJT to be plugged in and work correctly as well.

João,
I am intrigued by your installation of the 4 buttons on the back of the case and now that I've successfully installed the M9 gimbals, adding the buttons is something I'd like to attempt. My main question is, what do you use them for? I love the cool factor of having them and the fact that Ersky9x and the 9Xtreme board are so modifiable but I just don't know what I would need them to do. I may put them on anyway just because... But having them perform a function is so much better. I know I'm barely scratching the surface of what this radio can do.

I use them in many different situations, for example as a trainer switch when I'm teaching my son to fly. I find it better than the TRN switch because i don't have to let go of the sticks, so if he does a mistake, specially when landing I can take control of the model really quick :)

I use them for voice. For example when I want to know the voltage of my plane's battery, or any other telemetry data (Altitude for example), I just program a voice alarm controlled by one of the push buttons

I also use them to control the radio's music player (yes, Erky9x has a music player :) ). One of the buttons selects the previous song, and another the next song.

I use them with the simulator for landing gear, smoke ON/OFF, brakes, etc.

You can use them for whatever you need. In combination with a Logical switch you can use them as a latch switch. Press once to turn ON,and once again to turn OFF. Good for example to switch lights on models.. Something like this.
Logical switches:

L1 F-Flop PB1 !L1

Use L1 in the mix.

You could also make a lap counter using GVARs to count up / down every time the button is pressed. You don't need to let go of the sticks for pressing the button, so you can continue controlling the model normally ;)

Convinced??

I respectfully transfer the title of Er9x/Ersky9x God to the person that really deserves it  Mr. Mike.B
Without all his work and all the time he kindly puts into this firmware, none of this would be possible. It took a lot of work and many hours of his valuable time to implement all the nice features and hardware support we can now enjoy in Ersky9x and Er9x.

I am just a simple converted disciple that religiously follow his excellent work :) :D

But thank you for your kind words :) Always happy to help ;)

Let us know if you need help with setting them up. One of the most useful uses is to play a telemetry value like the battery voltage or altitude when you press one of the buttons.

New question regarding my newly installed switches. Checking in the DIAGSWITCHES screen all switches respond immediately when pressed, but applying the switch to a mix I must rock the switch button to get any response. I used the same type of switches as shown in Joao's photos. Do you think I need better quality switches?

If they respond immediately in "DiagSwitches" then they should also respond immediately when used. Please check you are not using any "Delay" or "Slow" functions in the mixes..

I spent some extra money (extra money is something we all have, right? ;) ) and got better switches. Much better response and MUCH better feel to my finger tips. I had to settle for the one odd yellow since the store only had three reds. Life is tough!
