Unable to set Date/Time

Post by dieter »

Just updated firmware from r212 to r217 and now I'm unable to set date/time. When I change the values of the date/time then scroll down past the year the courser disappears and when I press MENU LONG nothing happens. Is this a bug n the firmware of r217?

Hmmm, it might be. Try ersky9xr_rom.bin from ersky9xProvR218h.zip found here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4676#p65894.

Sorry Mike, out of the five choices after I unzip it. Is it the file erskyxr_rom that has the firmware for the 9xr pro? Hope that's not a dume question.

"ersky9xr_rom.bin" is the right choice for the PRO.

And there are no dumb questions. There can only be dumb answers. ;)

After updating to to r218 I can now change the date/time. Actually it showed that it was already set to the correct date/time after the restart. So that makes me believe it was already set in r217 but just did not display it. The problem I have now though is the welcome message is no longer sounding and the hardware menu shows disabled. I did read somewhere were it can be enabled at start up. Just can't remember what the startup sequence was.

Hold the left horizontal trim to the left as you power on to enable the hardware menu.
Copy any 'numbered' .wav files from /voice to /voice/system on the SD card.

Mike the voice file for the welcome screen seems to work except the Pro will not play it. I'm assuming the file number is 0028. Where on the radio menu would I find the input data for that sound file?

Download the voice pack from here and install it.
Backup your current voice pack to the PC, and then unzip the downloaded file to the root directory of your SD Card.

Will that really need to be done just to get the Welcome message since all other files seem to be working?

They seem to be, or are they? ;)
Anyway if you don't want to do that then try renaming the file number 0028.wav to "Welcome.wav" (I think) and copy it to the "system" folder inside the voice folder.

Thanks jhsa
I had a closer look at the new voice pack that I had already downloaded the other day. After looking at it I noticed there were a lot of new voice files there. I did copy it to the root per your suggestion and the welcome message now works.
Thanks again for you help.

I think this is the file you want.
Does the 'PRO start in bootloader mode (both horizontal trims inwards at power on)?
