Mike,

I just received my radio and am trying to connect it to my Windows 7 PC but when I establish the connection, no drives appear and I get a message that the Bossa Program port (COM 8) has been configured properly. What am I doing wrong?

You need to start the transmitter in bootloader mode. Hold the two horizontal trims towards each other, then switch the Tx on, then plug in the USB cable.

It seems the X8R measures internally the Rx voltage and display on A1, in that way it is different of the X6R which offer the choice to measure the pack voltage with the external A1 connector; is that true ?
The notice don't give any info about that connector, essentially the max voltage it can accept.

Mike,

That is what I was doing. Those steps generate a screen with some bootloader text across the top, and a line of text in the middle. Once I see that, I connect USB.

Am I missing a step?

What version of the bootloader does it show? V1.?
When you plug in the USB cable what does the display then show?

When in the bootloader, what happens when you connect the USB to the computer. It should show "Connecting".

It is when you get the "Connecting.." display that you should then see two disk drives appear on the computer.
When you get "USB" then you will probably get your Bossa message.

Mike,

I will look to see... That would imply then that everything is working okay, but then when I open eepskye and try to download content from the Tx it says "Device not found"

So, power on in bootloader mode, connect the USB cable, see "Connecting..".

Do you get the tones on the PC indicating a USB device plugged in?
If so, you should then get two disk drives appearing, and no Bossa device.

What does happen?

Mike,

I hear the sounds, and again it resulted in the BOSSA endstate. I feel like this is a Driver issue. Do you have a link to the Driver?? I have tried this almost 20 times and it always ends the same: BOSSA Could be why the USB drives are not mounting...

On another note, am I running the current Firmware version to get telemetry from a D8RIIPlus??

The reason for using disk drives is you don't need any special drivers, disk drive drivers are standard to Windows.
It seems your Bossa driver is picking up on the VID and PID used on the 'PRO for the disk drives.
The only solution I can think of is to uninstall the Bossa driver.
Have you used the Bossa driver for anything else?

Victor,

Would you mind posting your settings? I have a 9xr Pro and would like to see basic telemetry from my D8RIIPlus also...

Telemetry from A D8RIIplus should be fine, what Tx module are you using.

Mike,

Using the DJT Tx... I am extremely new to this so it would be helpful if I can get the settings for the radio. I know where the telemetry screen is, just not aure how to configure it...

On the 'PRO, using the DJT (unmodified) you need the telemetry cable that connects from the back of the DJT to the Futaba trainer socket. Do you have one of these?

Have you seen these manuals?

Thanks Mike, I will give it a shot. Can you confirm using the screenshots I posted previously that my firmware supports the D8RIIPlus and DJT??

Mike,

I ordered one, should get in tomorrow... Glad to know I am on the right track! I started a trouble ticket with Hobby King and they said there was no way to do this. Then I found the cable on their website...

Mike,

Finally broke down and did a flash on the firmware. Tried my Win 7 PC and Win 8.1 Tablet with no luck. BOSSA Post issue both times. Strangely enough, when I used the full size SD Card adapter for the micro SD card, the computer would not register. It was only when I used an adapter for the MicroSD Card that has a standard rectangular USB interface with the computer that it worked.

Now I am on ersky9x-r217 which I believe is current...

Are there any special settings I need to be aware of to get the telemetry from the D8RII Plus? I have received the cable from Hobby King...

And now, with the new Firmware that I manually flashed, the controller is loading correctly as a drive when directly connected to the PC...

Dear Mike

Once again please ask your help

Once again please ask your help

Everything was normal with telemetry. But when I solve bind a second receiver on the radio I lost all telemetry and does not work on both receptors that are registered now. What could have happened? Its revert to come back to work on both?

I appreciate your attention

I added in another radio receiver memory (XR8) and now lost all existing telemetry receiver and current receiver. What could have happened? It is to solve it for you to re-run the telemetry on both RX?

I appreciate your attention.

Please could you be more specific as to what you have done?

You added "another receiver". Do you mean a new model memory and bind to a new receiver?

You lost all the existing receivers. Do you mean all the other model memories?

How did you add the new receiver, using eepe or on the radio?

I bind a new receiver in the radio's memory. After this, the telemetry old receiver (which was OK) stopped working. And the new receiver does not work either.

I'm assuming you have a XJT module, and both receivers are X8Rs, also you said earlier in this thread you have r214 firmware.

Does the original receiver bind still?
Set the protocol to:
PXX
RxNum 1
Type D16
Country Ame
First Chan 1

Then power the receiver on holding the bind button down.
Then Select BIND in the protocol menu and press MENU LONG to carry out the bind operation.

Does this work?
