Indeed, have a look at this thread: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=8753.

The 9XR-PRO was designed to support several different possible Tx modules and we had direct input on the design. The Orange module was done "in house" mostly by HK. The hardware is fine, but the firmware in the module hasn't been updated since it was first produced.

The Multiprotocol firmware has been updated and works well.

Do you have any experience with using Arduinos? Getting the multiprotocol firmware on the Orange module initially takes a bit of "fiddling", but once you get the bootloader on the module you may update the module directly from the 9XR-PRO.

binding problem

There are four main solutions to the problem:
1. Flash the Orange module to Multi Protocol, as suggested by Mike. I have done that and it works well with any DSM model, including UMX, but demands a certain level of skill and knowledge to set up.
2. Use a module "hacked" from a DX5e or DX4e. This gives a six-channel solution, and is fairly simple to do, but is a DIY project that requires soldering parts.
3. Buy a 4in1 module: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthr ... ype-Module
4. Use a Spektrum transmitter (such as your DX5e).
