Thank you,

I think I might actually crack this now. The notes help a lot.

I will give it a go later on in the week ( I work away from home most of the week) and let you know how I get on.

Hello
I'm still running on r2940

I've downloaded the Open TX companion to see how it has changed from companion 9x.

Question - do you still need to download the bootloader to update the firmware through Open Tx or is it more plug and play?

Flashing instructions

Unless you actually need v2, I'd think twice about reflashing just yet. r2940 is very stable.

Ok I'll give it a go

In simple terms has open tx improved over companion 9x in the ease at which you can upgrade the firmware.

I assume I need to update the firmware from the open Tx menu as a prerequisite before loading one of the F3f glider files

Flashing is easier with OpenTx v. 2. If you have r2940 already flashed, then upgrading to v. 2 is easy enough, via C9X (have a look in OpenTx University or RC Groups for instructions). Thereafter, you can uninstall C9X and start using OpenTX Companion. The version of OTXC should follow the version of OpenTx.

Having said all that, you can run F3F v. 2.04 under r2940. Please post queries to do with the F3F setup on the other thread.

Hello.
I couldn't get it to work with Open TX so downloaded it onto Companion 9X. SUCCCESS
Its (F3F r2940 version) on the transmitter now, so i'm sort of feeling good.

Which other thread are you talking about? I need to load the sounds on as they didn't come across and just ask some basic questions.

Note that v. 2.0.13 is the version which is recommended now for all critical applications.

RETA is the channel order and has nothing to do with stick mode. Stick mode 1 has throttle and aileron on the right stick and elevator and rudder on the left stick.
RETA means rudder on ch1, elevator on ch2, throttle on ch3 and aileron on ch4.

I see where his confusion arises. Mode 1 shows up on the stick reversing screen in the order RETA! Whereas Mode 2 shows up as RTEA. You are quite right of course, that this has nothing to do with Channel Order. Consequently, it doesn't require any adjustment.

The real point here for Bruce, then, is that there is no need to convert anything for different stick modes. (But there would be if the channel order were different.)

On the stick reversing screen, the names are under the corresponding stick drawing.. They don't mean any specific order. ;) The manual explains it well I think..
