I've had mine for a year, and use it for fpv, small micro cam and rx.
It's a fun little plane.

Re: Lipo fire
Lipo packs will only self destruct if they are damaged. If a pack was in a crash, any kind, dispose of it, it's a time bomb waiting to go off. Store them away from knives, or any sharp object when transporting, again, you puncture one, it will not be good when you charge it. And don't go by those vi...

Not for a proper Bind. I had it bind to the Tx before any settings were made. (this is what I experienced. don't know about anyone else.) Non of the other Spektrum devices I have (quads , helis or planes) ever required additional stick input... *shrugs*

The gps data is in the log file, just extract it from the cvs file and you can do with it as you please.

Re: Bind mCPX to 9x Radio
Weird.
I just bind normally.
(I have my dmsX module internal)
Setup model, dsm protocol selected.
mcpx on first, trainer toggle on, power on, bound. done.
TAER is a given, standard spektrum protocol.
No need to touch any of the sticks or knobs for it to bind.

No idea if the telemetry worked before as I had no way to see the data without performing the mods. Whut? I don't have the mods done to my DJT and I see the Telemetry data just fine. This is how I do it... http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/cr8tive_leo/PICT0007.jpg Right to the Telemetry inputs...
