A totally arbitrary choice, you can set it to default to AETR again in the radio settings if you prefer.

It's normal, there have been changes to the eeprom structure, so you should also compile the current svn revision of companion9x and use that to do any edits.

It's the transmitter's mainboard that's being flashed. The module is left alone.

Re: ER9x telelmetry (battery levels)
OK. Then yes, you need a D-series receiver with the data port. Then you can use the FAS-100 current sensor to measure current, pack voltage and mAh. Optionally, you can add an FLVS-01 to have the voltage of each cell. To display that on the 9x's screen, you need to do the telemetry mod. http://openr...

Re: Request - Switching Between Edit & Simulate Windows
The other related idea I would like to implement is a way to simulate the open9x with the options you choose in Preferences. It would be possible if we linked to a dynamic library compiled on the compilation server What about including all code blocks in the simu version of open9x, then enabling th...

Can you take a photo of where you actually soldered your wires? Here's where they go: http://openrcforums.com/wiki/index.php/9x_Full_Mod_Programmer You initially soldered to the MISO and MOSI pins of the SPI interface , but that won't work as MOSI and MISO for programming are shared with the TX/RX p...

Re: FrSky telemetry mod without RS232 level converter
Well - I initially wanted to use 470 Ohms (like what the other telemetry mods used), and (apparently) picked the wrong ones in the pack and ended up with 47 Ohms. As this worked fine... I didn't bother much. It would be wiser to use 470 Ohms to protect the radio and the module in case of short circu...

Templates use a ton of flash. You'll likely not need them for long, so once you can do without you'll be able to add more stuff. All templates are also available in companion9x if needed.

No idea about voice, but it does work in the standard and audio versions of the current release. Had to disable it the other day when I intentionally left the radio on all day at a fair. Was getting annoying to have to move a stick every 10 minutes

Not glued, just "pinched" between the side walls. Pull on the little board with the DIP switches while twisting the case a bit.

Re: mCP X Template
I think his template was meant for a Spektrum DM9 module, not the DSM mod. If you have the DSM mod, then on er9x SWC activates range check when active. You can thus replace every SWC in the template with another unused custom switch, and that should do it. Just make sure the SWC line is empty in the...

Re: FrSky telemetry mod without RS232 level converter
OK. So you can jsut go on the telemetry pages, and set alarms either on A1, A2 or RSSI. If the alarms work as intended, then it's all good. The beeps will come from the frsky module's buzzer.

Re: Need help limiting the end point of my throttle.
Are you sure? I would assume that a motor running on 100% RPM pulls much more amps than a motor running on - let's say - 70% RPM. Even with a smaller prop. Oh no, it's by far the opposite. A simple idea - remove the prop, set your throttle to 100% - your motor uses very little ;) ESCs adjust speed ...

Re: FrSky telemetry mod without RS232 level converter
That connection with the cut trace is the one going FROM the radio TO the module, and is used to set the alarm levels on the frsky module itself. The telemetry data FROM the module TO the radio travels through the other connection.

Re: Need help limiting the end point of my throttle.
OK, I don't know that platform. BUT, most advanced multicopter boards don't just pass the radio's signal to the ESCs, they do a lot of processing on it, so you usually can't just solve that kind of issues simply on the radio. A multicopter board sends speed orders to the motors based on its own calc...

Ouh, and another question. If receiver is not powered I can brose through 3 different telemtry screens on radio but if I power up for example that 4-channel receiver. Then I can only see 2 of those views in my radio. Why is that? The other one will only be shown if a hub is connected to your receiv...

Re: What is time zone and gps coords for?
V series don't have telemetry-so pretty obvious there. The D4R-|| does return it's supply voltage on A1, and you can connect another voltage to the "AD2" pin of the side plug. The scalings for A1 and A2 have to be configured on the telemetry pages on the 9x, 13.2V for A1, for A2 it depends...

If you have the frsky gps, coordinates will be displayed in the format you choose there, and you can adjust your time zone to have it displayed correctly too (GPS time is UTC) .

Re: Tx Resolution/frame rate insigniifcant!
When using a PPM signal between the radio and module (as is the case there) the allowable frame rate/period depends on the number of channels you're transmitting. The default (22.5ms) is good for the default 8 channels. You can remove 2.2ms for each channel you leave out (for example if you set the ...

Re: FrSky telemetry mod without RS232 level converter
Are you sure the wire and the end of the smd resistor that are supposed to contact the track really do so? BTW I used a 47Ohm resistor, not 470 as Spoogy found out, it was a typing mistake. I corrected the first post, but you might have seen it earlier. 470/1k might indeed not cut it. If using 470Oh...

Re: Tx Resolution/frame rate insigniifcant!
OK, if i understand correctly, then if there is a simple comarison between frames, when the stick movement is less than the servo resolution, then don't calculate and put a 'null' frame out, and rx read 'null' frame will keep all the ch where it was instead of compile a whole frame. This way all th...

I'm flying a $3k machine with my 9x - however it doesn't really count as it would come and land itself in case of problem
Anyway, I never had any crash not caused my myself on about 8 models. I wouldn't fly anything serious on the stock RF though, FrSky upgrade mandatory IMO.
