Re: Taranis and DSM2 mods

This is what I have found in testing with a dx4e hack module: This hapened with all tests after binding, during testing: If I enter the setup menu of the plane, when I get to the "SERVOS" menu, the servos positions change. This may be affecting only rx channels 1 and 2. Can someone test th...

Re: Taranis and DSM2 mods

I have two Linux builds. On Mint 64 bit this works: PCB=TARANIS (with no options). DSM2=PPM and DSM2=SERIAL does not work On Suse 32 bit: DSM2=PPM works but DSM2=SERIAL does not work. Bertrand is saying DMS2=PPM, so I think I'm good, I'll give that firmware a try. Perhaps I have incomplete 32bit lib...

Re: Taranis and DSM2 mods

John, I can't give compiling advice, but wanted to confirm that I get pretty much the same errors as you with the command make PCB=TARANIS DSM2=SERIAL, or PCB=TARANIS DSM2=PPM . Using R2860

Re: Taranis and DSM2 mods

Give this a try: http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=541&start=150#p48608 It worked for me with er9x on a Turnigy 9x radio. Guys, where would be a good forum to get help on compiling? I get all the way to the point where this works and outputs an opentx.bin file, make PCB=TARA...

It fits. Many people are using the dm9 for dsm2 right now (including me)

Re: Taranis and DSM2 mods

I guess I'm over my head here. I was able to compile a version - they system said it was version opentx-r2859 216 It flashed ok, but the Taranis boot warned that it had to 'update the eeprom'. That went ok, but I didn't see any dsm2 options for the external module. I'm sure I missed something obviou...

After you compile opentx, is there a way to load that version into Companion9x?

Here is one of the main ones: http://openrcforums.com/wiki/index.php/9x_Full_Mod_DSM2/X This one is internal, may not be what you want for the Taranis: http://openrcforums.com/wiki/index.php/How_to_modify_your_9x_to_the_DSM_protocol I put some notes together here: http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewt...

Re: New openTX features

I would pay for Companion. It's rare in the "non sponsored" opensource world to have something that updates and works in such a solid way. Of course if you charge, people are going to expect more than forum support. Especially those that can't get the USB drivers working. In normal open so...

Re: Wireless Trainer Connection on Taranis.

The master is likely to be a dx6 or dx8. It's not an ideal training situation, but the student will have a spektrum and the plane bound to his radio. He's going to have to pull the trainer switch when he wants me to take over, but he has enough experience at this point. I'll probalby just step in fo...

Re: Wireless Trainer Connection on Taranis.

Can you elaborate on this?
For instance, can you take the cppm and ground output from a FrSky D4R-II (For example), and plug it into the trainer port input (master) on another transmitter?

If you are looking for help testing Taranis DSM2 support for the dx5e hack module, I'd be happy to help. I could run through a test script or whatever you need.

Re: Small Request for Switch warning

What would maybe be good - is label swapping. So then stick gets physically moved - and just referred to with the name that is in the sticker :) Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2 True, moving the switches while keeping them connected to the same headers on the main board would work (and as you...

Small Request for Switch warning

If many people are swapping the H (momentary) with the F switches it would be nice if we can set the switch startup warning for H. Of course it's normally not needed since the stock H is momentary. If many mode 2 flyers are swapping without moving the wires, this addition might be useful (but not cr...

Re: DSM2/DSMX Hack Module

With the Taranis radios in people's hands now I understand that your resources are dedicated to fixing bugs or making existing features work better. I can't believe how well the Taranis works out of the box. Perhaps people are finding features that need to be polished, but not big bugs or problems. ...

Sorry, yes I was talking about the Tarnanis. You mean there are other transmitters in the world besides the Taranis :) I have been following the Taranis for so long, I forgot about opentx on other radios

Re: T9X mod to use Flysky module, Frysky module and DSMX mod

I have flown about a dozen times with my friend's 9x and this dsmx module using an OrangeRX receiver and it has been working without any problems. It was a small plane, so it was probably only 200 yards away but I think that wraps up the project for me until I get my 9x or Taranis. (If/when Taranis ...

Re: T9X mod to use Flysky module, Frysky module and DSMX mod

I’m not sure if anyone is still following this old thread (or if this is the right forum?), but I built the module based on my schematic above and it seems to work in my friend’s 9x radio running er9x. I didn’t have a chance to fly, but the receiver bound and I tested it at about 150 yards. I’m not ...

Re: T9X mod to use Flysky module, Frysky module and DSMX mod

This will eventually be for the Taranis radio. When we know more about the radio, I'll have to be sure which pin is the ground on it's JR connector. I guess it will be pins 2 or 4. Thank you for your help.

Re: T9X mod to use Flysky module, Frysky module and DSMX mod

I am new to this forum, and was wondering if this question might have been answered someplace else, or if someone here might know the answer. I would like to use the DSMX module from a dx4e, and put it in a 'generic' JR module case (such as the one below) using a 3.3v bec for power and not use a fly...
