Re: MasterRadio TX16S
Mike, after the screen went black I shined a flashlight on the black screen and could just see the erskytx intro screen. I pressed enter and got switch warnings and what I think was a throttle warning. It is hard to read. This is all while holding the power button down. A power off appeared and when...

Re: MasterRadio TX16S
That worked as you said. The letters in the upper lefthand corner were green on white background and appeared about 4/sec. The last one was E. Then the screen went black. Multiple long presses of the on/off button finally turned it off. Then I can still boot into OpenTx bootloader mode.

Re: MasterRadio TX16S
eepskye = QT5 On bootup it gives a white screen with STARTING then it goes to black. I do not see any hex numbers. It takes three long presses of the on/off switch to get it to turn off. I can still bootup into OpenTx Bootloader - 2.3.9-otx. Should I have flashed a different bootloader before flashi...

Re: MasterRadio TX16S
The same thing happens. Also when I try to flash from the SD card, one first selects the firmware from a list, then a confirmation screen appears with the chosen file. The screen flickers at about 30 Hz and is locked up. A hard reboot is necessary (unplugging the battery) to be able to turn on in bo...

Re: MasterRadio TX16S
Ok, mike, when flashing the test firmware with Companion it flashed very fast (seemed too fast). then when turning the radio on (not in bootloader) it has a white screen with "Hardware Menu Enabled". A hard reboot was necessary again.

Re: MasterRadio TX16S
The Volume name is TX16S. With the SD card flash it had the .bin file and wanted me to long press enter to start the flash. I will redo the Companion flash to remember exactly what it said when I started the radio.

Re: MasterRadio TX16S
Mike, I tried: when writing firmware from the sd card it hangs just after the firmware selection. I can "RTN" to the previous menu. When flashing from eepsky, I am still getting disk not mounted error. I tried to flash from Companion, and it flashed with a warning that it may be invalid fi...

Re: MasterRadio TX16S
Ok, finally had time to try this. Flashing from the sd card resulted in the radio hanging at the "long press enter" to flash. So I tried flashing the erskyTx firmware from Companion. It flashed and when I turned it on I got a "STARTING" message briefly then a black screen with a ...

Re: MasterRadio TX16S
I used the latest and the 2019 versions of eepsky to flash. It would not flash with the T16 firmware and the disk not mounted error appeared. Then I tried flashing the bootloader the radio would lockup and a hard reboot was necessary. Then in order for the radio and SD drives to be seen I had to flas...

Re: MasterRadio TX16S
I was wondering if anyone has been successful in flashing ErSkyTx to this transmitter. I have tried, as Mike suggested elsewhere using the July 2019 version and bootloader as well as the latest Test Version without success. Hopefully someone has done it and can share just how they did it, please. Op...

Thanks torturedau. I received the four boards. This maybe something that I have overlooked. Is there a "map" of where to populate the components? I am in the process of finding everything in the BOM.

I would be interested in 4 pcb, please.torturedau wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 6:35 am If no comments/revisions by lets say the 7th of January, I'll look at placing that order. Anyone that wants one should put there hand up over the next week in case I need more than planned. Postage will be on an individual basis.

Jhsa, that is a great summary for how a beginner should approach any transmitter. It should be an introduction to any variation of OpenTx or Er9x family.

Your are correct. I can not gain access with two different browsers or with Tapatalk right now. For at least a year now I have gotten redirected to a pirate site, sometimes 4 or 5 times in a row. Then it would seem to work fine until the next day.

Re: Using FrSky S6R with ersky9x
Setting up a wing seems to be inconsistent. I need help. I have setup two other wings, one with a S6R and the other with S8R. I have a new S8R that is giving me fits. I am obviously doing something wrong. I have used both Sportset and latest FrSky config programs. I have also updated the unit with t...

Could you switch to erSky9x? I think that it supports a rotary encoder. I don't use companion anymore so I do not know if it supports it or not.

Re: Taranis X9D+ and X8R lock-out and plane crash
I have an observation with two X8Rs. Both units lost signal (manifest by loss of control) at about 200 meters when making a fairly steep turn from downwind to base. I ordered and changed both antennas from the paddle pcb to Frsky's linear unipolar antennas. The problem was solved. I have since used ...

Yes, Mike it did display 9xtreme on the screen and the VR did not get hot. So this points to the STM that had a short. I may need some help when it comes time to flash the chip (not sure how to work with Defuse from STM but will try to figure it out. Thanks for helping me diagnose the problem Mike, ...
