Re: Simulator Jack
Although many stereo cables will work in a mono jack, there can be issues if the 3 conductor surface area on the plug is off slightly from the mono jacks contact design. A mono plugs 2 conductor surface area will mate properly with a mono jacks contact. I find that many stereo plugs are more tapered...

Re: eePe simulator - trim on elevator shows up on throttle
Maybe post the mix downloaded from your TX that's having trouble and the version of eepe you're using so we can try it.
I'm no expert but having the mix to try would get you a answer or fix here.

Re: Replacement LCD
There was some mention in some thread about the boards we call v1 and V2 may use different voltage LCDs? V1 5 volt and V2 3.3v. Anyone know anything about this or how to tell? Hopefully this is not true and one less worry. I too ordered a few spare LCDs a few months ago and so far not needed to use ...

Hi Rob, No, same haptic strenght 5, exactly same EEprom values and no reaction of the haptic. And I also tried with another radio I just modified for a friend, same result! r691 works fine and since r699 it's dead. The mod is exactly as recommended and I use this nice vibration motor http://www.rob...

Re: Charging Question
Some rules I live by. Use the NiMh charge mode on your charger (the name of it helps?). Charge less than 1 amp because there is a diode in series with the charge jack usually and it's usually 1 Amp. Unlike Nicads NiMh don't like to be trickle charged so your smart charger knows that when you select ...

Wow just a Schotty Diode! It's worth a try.
Making room on the bench for this and some other projects. Where does all the clutter come from, I know, you have to throw something away!
I believe I read where many brand TXs are open collector so this may work.

Re: Trainer level converter idea
Even better news about not needing power Mike. The led was just because I had a battery designed in the small box already. It can go! I'll try it today. The only reason for a non inverting level changer is for use with other brand radios with each other. But this too may not require power. My club p...

The 9x expects to see another 9x as the student Tx along with the 5v ppm data level. Many non 9x brands only output 1.5 to 3 v ppm data. Gruvin has a 1 transistor level changer mod shown on his posted schematics. I built it and installed it into the 4066s ppm in data line and now I can use many non...

Another of my hobbies. Reports every 3-5 min 24/7 to the Internet the local weather conditions at the field, no Internet connection or WiFi avsilable. Is there, or can there be a Frsky topic Rob? For now here's my request to discuss. Help! I have a lot of Frsky 2way devices, DJT,D8R-xxx, and the HUB. By accident have 4 Frsky cell measurement devices/sensors on order so I guess I better learn how to use them. It was a midnight iPod order and I was asleep at the finger. Is open9x another FW besides all the others, I suspect it is?
How does it relate to er9x and all Mikes work on the Frsky telemetry FW additions he's made?

I find/found that the servo type connector ony life batteris are a not a tight fit. Re: hk backlight mod
Quote of post directly above removed by your friendly MOD If you remove or jumper the diode consider using a fuse, Futaba uses a 2A fast blow I'm told and Spektrum uses a 3A fast blow. Re: hk backlight mod
Yes, basically that's the way the HK BL does it through the in Line connector assembly provided with the BL. I'm leaning towards just using he BL, a 470 ohm resistor, and a fet with the voltage coming from the battery. Your charge point is the right idea because it should be battery. I was thinking ...

Re: hk backlight mod
FWIW, I am using 470 ohms and driving the backlight directly from the MCU pin so it is only getting 5 volts. A FET is not required this way and the MCU can easilly handle this load. Pretty standard to drive LEDs from mcu pins with 470 ohm resistors. Seems plenty bright to me this way, not sure I wo...

Led data sheets may give a current vs brightness graph? I've never look to see, just faked it. Current flow through LEDs determine the brightness and the voltage is needed to start current flow. I find that 1.3 volts seems to be a good place to start but I'm sure that's debatable and others will mor...

As with all these things, it is possible, we might need to find somewhere to store (in EEPROM) the limit. This might be Tx specific rather than model specific.
