Re: Tinkering with Neopixel LED-strips

@Kaos: That is some very cool stuff! If I had a helo, I'd probably try to make some PoV blades :). @G550Ted: Yes, those LEDs are addressable individually, in any length - as shown in the first video I posted... Each LED contains a 3x8bit shift register and once it's own shift registers are filled, i...

Re: Tinkering with Neopixel LED-strips

Is it possible the led pattern can be changed via Tx switches during flight? or it has to be preprogramed? It has to be preprogrammed but you can change it via TX :D. That's my current mainloop. navlights(byte) and bealights(byte) just set the LEDs to some predetermined states, like all red, all gr...

Re: In-/Decrease GVARs by other than 1 and use as mixing sou

Oh, I can use GVAR as weight? I only found GVAR as offset yet :). As to the question which other increments... It would be useful if it was possible to adjust them freely, because there are so many different controllers with different input values out there. If that's not possible, I have to do some...

Tinkering with Neopixel LED-strips

During my LED-googling, I also ran across the Neopixel light strips. Those are strips made of WS2812 LEDs - RGB LEDs with integrated 2811 controller. Thanks to Adafruit there also is a control library , which makes it reasonably easy to control those things with an Arduino. [BBvideo 425,350]http://y...

Control high power LEDs (1W, 3W) from the APM 2.5 LED output

I was looking for a way to make the APM's ARM and GPS LED signals more visible for quite a while. Ideally, I thought, I could drive high-power LEDs somehow from that outputs. A short question in the comments of my blog post with the LED poles at DIY-Drones didn't yield any results except the reflex-...

In-/Decrease GVARs by other than 1 and use as mixing source

Hi, I'd like to suggest and addition to GVARs. Currently, GVARs can only be set to a specific value or in-/decreased by 1. It would be useful if the in-/decrease value in custom functions could be changed. Users could e.g. define a "coarse" and a "fine" switch. Additionally I'd l...

Re: Increase / Decrease GVARs

Aaaah, that was it :). Thanks! But it's still only possible to in-/decrease by 1, right? I made a simple LED controller thats controlled by PWM and wanted to use 3POS as a mode up/down switch.

Increase / Decrease GVARs

Hi,

how do I increase / decrease a GVAR (ideally by another value than 1)? I know there's custom functions but they SET a GVAR.
I somehow also don't find the function any more with which I could assign a switch and a pot to change a GVAR directly...

Are you sure that will be possible? I had some email-contact with FrSky a while ago and they said, 1-8 from the RX and 9-16 from an SBUS-decoder.

Circular polarized antennas beneficial for FrSKY?

Hi, as FrSky is offering pigtails from U.FL to (RP)SMA as accessories, I wonder if circular polarized antennas would be beneficial for the 2,4GHz RC systems. I recently had a fly-away of my quad and the FrSky connection was lost at about 1,5km (D8RV2, FrSky +5dB antenna on DJT) quadcopter still in t...

Re: Time for an Operating System Change

For me it's the other way around. I can't see why I would click myself through a 5-level menu/submenu stuff in a GUI for something I could do in Linux simply with a command line :). Example: find /raid/security_camera/ -mtime +14 -delete => delete all files in all subfolders (8) of /raid/security_ca...

Boscam HD19 and FrSKY

Hi, I have an interesting problem. I have installed a Boscam HD19 into my quad which is controlled by an APM. Additionally, I have a MinimOSD in the loop and a Boscam 5.8GHz 500mW VTX. The RX is a FrSKY D8RV2. Power to the camera and VTX comes from a separate 1Ah lipo. From the RX, only CH1-6 are co...

Of course Linux can be a PITA when it comes to that s**t terminal thingy. don't like it at all. I started using Linux in 1996 and it's my primary (almost exclusive) desktop system since 2002/2003. About that terminal thingy... Remember my "screenshot" in the other thread? I'm one of those...

OpenTX "UAV edition"

Hi, I've been using Open9x/OpenTX on a stock 9x with SP22 for a while now. My primary, if not exclusive, use are UAVs. I have a plane and a quadcopter, both running APM 2.5. I have done the 6pos-switch mod and I use flight phases in combination with custom switches to display the current flight mode...

Throttle invert missing in c9x [was: throttle warning]

Hi, I use my 9x for a plane as well as for a multicopter. For the multicopter, I have the throttle inverted in the limits menu to have a more helo-like feeling. However, open9x still warns when the stick is not on the bottom. Of course, the throttle warning can be disabled but that's kinda besides t...
