Re: ARUni is only detected as a 'Bossa program port'. Nothing on the LCD.

Shame on me! How could I forget?! :( Thanks, this certainly helped! It's not the first time I swap the MCU on the AR9x / ARUni, but this time I completely forgot about that last step... I guess this means I need some sleep! :) Now, I need to swap the chip back and see if the original one had the sam...

ARUni is only detected as a 'Bossa program port'. Nothing on the LCD.

Dear All, I got an ARUni board that 'almost' doesn't work. Previous owner tried to install it into his radio, and he couldn't get it to work - so he gave it to me. I'm now trying to test it in its minimal configuration with just the screen, battery, power switch and a USB cable connected. When I swi...

Re: 9xr pro NEW It does not turn on

This is another excellent thread! THANK YOU! to Sir Technicus Genius for another great hint to diagnose and fix things quickly and easily! I was asked for help to repair a 9XR PRO which stopped working after the RF module connector got somewhat short... Yes, it was the R9 that failed. All other part...

It's a known fact that 9x and 9XR gimbals are not the same and cannot be swapped easily. :(

Re: FrSky M9 gimbals in a 9x - photos (traffic!)

Ah, sorry about that! Looks like only my local shops call this connector an 'MW-3M'. Other shops call them differently, and there doesn't seem to be a common name. Here is a link to the one at DigiKey: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/jst-sales-america-inc/B3B-PH-K-S(LF)(SN)/455-1705-ND/926...

Re: Horus: doesn't power on unless the battery is reconnected

Thanks a lot, Mike!

I can't seem to find any source for these (ebay / aliexpress are of no help, either). Do you know of any replacement that could fit? Or maybe a store that offers the AM5521C itself (preferably in quantities of less than a reel...)?

Horus: doesn't power on unless the battery is reconnected

A Horus owner accidentally shorted positive and negative pins in the Futaba tTrainer connector. As he says, there is a full battery voltage there. After this, his Horus doesn't power on with the power button at all. He says the radio does power on when he unplugs and plugs the battery in again. When...

Re: Using FrSky S6R with ersky9x

Ah, so it's supposed to just limit the amount of options a pilot could choose. I don't see much use for it on er9x / OpenTX, as we can achieve the same by configuring the radio. And I'm not sure there are many people out there using the S-series receivers on non-er9x / non-opentx radios (if there ar...

Hi Mike, Did you see the "Simple mode" firmware for the S6R? https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=37665221&postcount=3095 Looks like they added three levels of "pilot skills", allowing different stabilization options. Honestly speaking, I don't understand how this n...

Re: RSSI and qx7 using xm plus

As Kilrah said, XM / XM+ do not have telemetry. Though, they do transmit RSSI on Channel 16 (or on Channel 8, if you install corresponding firmware). The RSSI value has to be processed by the flight controller and then can be shown on the OSD (if you have an FPV system). There's no way (that I know ...

Re: LUA on ersky9x

I've been looking at the compatibility of the BF script. One problem I see is it uses the specific Taranis buttons, so trying to run this on a 9X/9XR machine will require some re-writing. A second problem is it uses "small text" which ersky9x doesn't have. I also note it writes text "...

Re: LUA on ersky9x

As I understand, both ar9x and aruni in their current configuration have a limited amount of RAM. The upgraded MCU is meant to solve this. JK needs to decide which one to go with for the next revision of ARUni. My suggestion is to go with a more powerful version, since it will allow more flexibility...

Re: LUA on ersky9x

These are the scripts I tried: https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight-tx-lua-scripts/releases/download/v0.3/BFSetup-X7-v0.3-0-g4cd7539.zip There are two subfolders ('BF' and 'TELEMETRY'). Ersky9x doesn't see subfolders in the 'SCRIPTS' folder, so I had to copy all the lua files to 'SCRIPTS' (this ...

Re: LUA on ersky9x

I'm not sure whether I can reuse OpenTX scripts "as is", or I should apply some modifications first... I tried running unmodified BetaFlight scripts for X7 on my AR9x (still with a stock MCU) and the radio restarts as soon as I long-press "Menu" on a .lua file.

Looking at the M4 core MCUs from Atmel, these seem like interesting options: ATSAM4S8CA-AU (512kB FLASH, 128kB SRAM) - already supported by ersky9x ATSAM4SA16CA-AU (1Mb FLASH, 160kB SRAM, 2kB HCACHE) - not yet supported / tested ATSAM4SD32CA-AU (2x1Mb FLASH, 160kB SRAM, 2kB HCACHE) - not yet support...

Re: 9X (and possibly 9XR/PRO) Switch Board Design

In my opinion, replacing a slide switch with a push button doesn't make much difference. The real advantage the new board may have is the RF Power Switch on-board. Though, it's only useful to those having an internal RF module installed. P.S. I don't have a Q X7 now... Next time I get my hands on it...

Re: 9X (and possibly 9XR/PRO) Switch Board Design

The FrSky Q X7 has a push button. You push it quickly, and the radio powers up. You push and hold it for a few seconds, and the radio powers down. On the X7 it is integrated into the main MCU. So that when the radio is ON and you push the power button, there are dots appearing on the screen, one by ...

Re: 9X (and possibly 9XR/PRO) Switch Board Design

I think there should be enough space to put a stock connector at the bottom of the board - similarly to how I did it on mine. This way it will be both, nice and functional! :) Regarding mosfets, that's why I left the positive and negative poles on the switch. I know, I know, I'm the one who said it'...

Yeah, that's nice! That's exactly why I made these slots on my board: http://www.rccube.ru/image/cache/catalog/products/new_switch_1.4_02-500x500.jpg If someone doesn't use a stock beeper, he can easily cut (or just break) the unused part of the switch board and free up some space for a larger speak...
