Re: openX9D
There's unfortunately no encoder. We were really wishing for one, but no... There will be one (or more) directly accessible, entire screens dedicated to telemetry that can be customised (like now on the 9x). So you'll have no problem showing exactly what you want and where you want on these, you can...
Re: openX9D
Yes it's planned, not the first priority though
Re: openX9D
Yep that view above with the custom switches could lose the logo and put something else there. That way the logo would only be on the main home screen with the sticks.
Re: openX9D
Well... there are some who say there's too much info, and some who say there's too little
We still have a 2nd voltage that's due there, and there's a 3rd available space with label if needed:

Yes, very bad idea. One should never run any transmitter without an antenna attached, especially with such high power. The 1.5W of power that are supposed to go to the antenna get dissipated as heat in the transmitter, and can damage or destroy it in seconds.

If needed, there's the array for the throttle trace in the STAT screen that uses a ton of it (nearly 10% if I remember well), and could probably be done away with/have its resolution reduced.MikeB wrote:It should free off quite a bit of RAM

Yes, that was my first idea but I realize that each time I hit the switch the channel has less and less travel... No, because if let's say one day you need to pull elevator a lot, hit instatrim, it will add -10% offset. The next day you need to push a bit with regard to that new setting, so you do,...

Yep. Can't wait to have better radios to run our good firmwares on.
Those who purchased them from other sellers than HK under the other brands (usually for $70-90) seem to have fewer duds...

Ouch, bad for the loss... No, no way to set failsafe on that system. That's one of the main reason why many upgrade to FrSky modules and receivers.

It's not really "made for the 9x", it's just a JR-compatible module, and as such it can go in the 9x

Instructions to install the DSM module are here, but those require you to reflash your radio first (you can't use it with stock firmware): http://openrcforums.com/wiki/index.php/How_to_modify_your_9x_to_the_DSM_protocol There are 2 common methods, one is to install the module in the radio with a swi...

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
Thanks Kilrah. I wonder what kind of com port I would have to use on the batch file that Mike provided to program the atmega with this cable.. Would it be the com1? Well you'd have to check on your PC to see what number that COM port has, and edit the batch file to put the same one. But if your PC ...

First, ersky9x is one of the firmwares for the sky9x board , not the skyboard itself.. Well it was both until recently, so some confusion is normal... The board was also called ersky9x, was even printed on it, not to mention the ersky9x.net website selling it ;) It was changed later due to that exa...

Re: plus 200 to minus 200?
If you can compile the firmware yourself, I recall it's not terribly complicated to modify it to allow for higher values. I had increased it to 600% or such for testing... then you could see if your module handles it or not. Another reason not to allow higher values in the standard firmware is that ...

Re: plus 200 to minus 200?
The problem is that nobody expects a radio to output pulses beyond about 800-2200us. So some manufacturers will use that fact to adapt their coding, or not - what happens beyond the spec will be different for every RF module manufacturer. Back in the MHz days the PPM signal was sent as is, so no pro...
