Re: [SOLVED] 9x bricked, firmware upload fails

I don't know. I'm on Opensuse 12.1 and used the AVR stuff from the Opensuse cross toolchain repo. It always worked but that day, seemingly after the automatic software update, it stopped working. I know too little about the AVR stuff to make a precise diagnosis but I found that the avrdude.conf was ...

Re: [PANIC] 9x bricked, firmware upload fails

Ah, ok. Misunderstood it but it lead me to the right idea, still.
The avrdude version of the arduino package is 5.11, the version of the avr toolchain 5.11svn and the configs are different.
Does anybody have an idea what change has caused the problems?

Re: [PANIC] 9x bricked, firmware upload fails

No way I get this open. I'll have to drill the screws out... But something else - I erased the flash with -e and the read it. Got 12 bytes back. Then I wrote the firmware file (51780 bytes) and read it back and got 123000 bytes back In the downloaded file, all lines start with 200, in the original f...

Re: [PANIC] 9x bricked, firmware upload fails

For the .hex copy, you might want to compare that temp.hex with the original one... No it's not because I substitute the image but if I don't, the upload of the original file fails too. I also tried by hand to upload it from the command line with the same result. I'll try to get my 9x open... I put...

Re: [PANIC] 9x bricked, firmware upload fails

I have only 1 9x and only 1 programmer which is the smartieparts-board. I never had serious problems. Just very rarely I have to switch the 9x off and on after writing the EEPROM. I am reasonably sure that I'm trying to upload a valid firmware because - among others - I also tried to upload the firm...

Re: [PANIC] 9x bricked, firmware upload fails

It seems it does. avrdude is updating progress reports, etc. I tried to burn various firmwares now and after each burn, the pixeltrash on the display looks different, so I suppose, avrdude is doing SOMEthing. I also tried to retrace my steps. It *might* be possible that I tried to write the EEPROM w...

[SOLVED] 9x bricked, firmware upload fails

Hi, I just did an SVN update on c9x and then tried to flash the open9x-r1947 without the potscroll because I have installed the 6pos mod. The verification failed and now the 9x is bricked. I tried like 20 times to reflash it with various flavours but it doesn't help. Always =========================...

Easy to use FrSky-library for Arduino

For my Control Station project, I also started writing a bunch of decoding function for the FrSky telemetry protocol. I have now moved those functions into their own library for Arduino. My focus while writing and expanding this library is on ease of use. There is already Arduino code available but ...

PoV display for R/C aircrafts?

Hi, I'm slightly frustrated with my APM, specifically with the rather unprecise 3-LED status indicator which is hidden inside the plane, so I have been thinking what I could do... First idea was to use a Nano with an RGB LED, let it decode the MAVLink from the telemetry port. Then I thought, a PoV d...

Re: D8R V2 failsafe

My D8R V2 doesn't react to the button if the TX is off... Already tried :(.
I currently do it so that I set failsafe on Ch8 so that RTL is active but that's not optimal. I guess, I should get newer RXes then... :)

D8R V2 failsafe

Hi, is there a firmware update or mod that enables the "new" failsafe option 2 (stop outputting PWM if signal lost) on the D8R V2? The default is "freeze" the last position and otherwise it can only do option 1 - set all channels to predefined values. Both are kinda bad with an A...

Re: 9x and wifi?

Bluetooth to phone doesn't include serial over TCP. The implementation is not excessively more complicated as all the TCP stuff is done by the WIFI-module. Basically, it works like an Arduino ethernet shield - developing-wise. Both bluetooth and WIFI would need a configuration page in the firmware. ...

Re: 9x and wifi?

WIFI has more possibilities :). If you think extreme, it would be possible to send real time telemetry to the home PC via serial over tcp - phone 3G tethering :).

FrSky internal voltage sensor

Hi, the internal RX voltage sensor has a 4:1 divider. That means 13,2V at a maximum value of 0xFF. So, to get the actual voltage from the value, I have to multiply it with 0.0517647058824... Right? If so, that's funny, because in my test and development setup, I have a D8R V2 connected to an APM 2.5...
