Re: er9x development
At these altitudes (of around 350m and more) it's hard to guess the real altitude of a model. And it's an altitude, where an uplift may be rather strong. So I would like to have that alarm limit to tell me, I have to go down immediately to stay in a safe (visible) range. (My electric gliders are rea...

Re: er9x development
The 'custom' altitude alarm is currently settable from 0 to 1020 (3346 ft) metres in steps of 4 metres (13ft). Is this actually too high for an alarm? Would 0-255 m (0-835 ft), in steps of 1 m (3ft) be better? Mike. 255 m as maximum altitude is to low, for me. I normally get up higher with my elect...

Re: Stereo microscope for electronics
It's probably some kind of constant current source.
Current will be the same independent of the load. So voltage goes up (with several LEDs in series) to hold the current at the same level.

I always fly gliders (up to 2m) with the 3 channel receivers. I didn't have problems with them up to now. And I have quite a bunch of the 3 channel receivers. Even though I did not recognize dropouts, I know, that they are there, from time to time, probably with higher distance and direction of ante...

Re: Antenna placement.
Your picture doesn't look like a shorted antenna contact. Even without any antenna, the receiver should have a connection range of some ten meters. So it looks like something different is wrong. Does the tx work, when you use a different rf module (from the other tx) ? Can you check, if the supply v...

Why not try the Bosch BMP085 air pressure sensor that is even smaller (5 x 5 x 1.2 mm) ?

I don't trust the GPS altitude. After I zero it, after a few seconds it'll go to -5, zero it again and after a few seconds it goes to -5 again. It should be dead nuts on but it doesn't seem to be. On the other screen where it's in meters it starts at 30 M there abouts but I'm only about 10 feet abo...

Thanks for the tips, I found the QT4 package for python2.7 and installed it. It still didn't run. Did not find 'python' Found that the system path variable had the path added to '...Python27\lib\site-packages\PyQt4' but not to '..\Python27;' Added the path to the variable and now it's working ...

Re: A couple of suggestions
I can not compile splash screens
I'm running XpSP2
Splash screens on ER9X are compiled, as they run with a Ruby script.
Open9X, as far as I understand, needs Python.
Which version? Tried with 2.7.3 but that did not work.
Is there anything else missing that needs to be installed?

Re: A couple of suggestions
Next question:
Are there any splash screens with open9x?
I didn't find any
And is there some more help (besides the discussions) about what open9x does and how to use it ?
I'm just trying this firmware and I'm a little bit lost.

Re: A couple of suggestions
Open9x can display 2 x 8 channels on the bars and on the numeric display.
But there is no indication of which set of 8 channels are shown.
Could we get some text on the screen, that states which channels are displayed?

Re: Frsky telemetry data
I also have made an Arduino version to get telemetry data onto the radio. As I made the NMEA version of ER9X that doesn't use the FrSky hardware, my solution is a little bit different. For the NMEA version look at the wiki. I use the 'normal' NMEA hardware (module of a GPS mouse and two APC200 trans...

Re: Pb with PPM signal ?
As it is different between bind mode and normal mode, the module seems to correctly switch between these two modes.
So it looks like it is not able to interpret and transmit the ppm stream.
That makes me believe the failure is within the rf module.

Did you check the bind switch that is not permanently activated, holding the TX in bind mode ? Re: Pb with PPM signal ?
As the tx can bind with a receiver, the rf part basically must be working. (Binding is done without an external signal). Signal amplitude to low or to high could be a problem. Probably it should not be to high, so only a to low signal could be the reason. Can you verify, that the 1k resistor is real...

Re: Help flashing
Software. You probably have flashed the FrSky version of the firmware. This requires, that you do the FrSky mod on the tx board. This physically reroutes the aileron and the throttle signal to two, up to that time unused pins, to free up the pins that are used to communicate with the FrSky module Re...

Re: New feature: PPM servos settings
Agreed; I'll look further into eliminating the cause of the problem, being that trim is added to the computed stick position, thereby offsetting all input values, rather than being treated as an offset to its calibrated neutral position, having its effect linearly scaled through its range, tapering...

if you have a gps module attached to the FrSky-Hub:
On setup screen 'Telemetry' (9/11) select:
UsrProto = FrHub
On setup screen 'Telemetry2' (10/11) select:
GpsAltMain = ON
The altitude, displayed on the 'RPM' screen will now be set from the GPS altitude and not from e.g. HowHigh
