Re: Ic certification for canada
I recall when 27.255 MHz was the one frequency we could use without a ham license. We’ve come a way since then. I happen to think MAAC has done quite well in representing our interests. I’m crossing my fingers waiting for the next move from DOT. Not sure why you think the insurance is invalid. The i...

OpenTX 2.2 Documentation for the Taranis and Horus Transmitters
I found your document on 2.1 very good indeed and am sure this will be equally helpful. From one who spends quite a bit of time writing instructions of this kind for other equipment, thank you for an excellent job.

Re: FrSky X8R (EU-LBT) Receiver
The main thing is that they should be separated as much as possible (while taking care not to bend the coax cable sharply) and aligned at right angles to each other. The active portion (last 32mm or so of silvery color with outer sheath stripped off) of each should be well clear of the battery, meta...

Ic certification for canada
Nothing has changed in ten or more years with respect to the certification situation, since 2.4 came on the scene, except for the latest news about facilitating the process, and nothing is expected to. There’s no reason to think ISED will suddenly start to apply the regulations to RC equipment — 2.4...

Ic certification for canada
You’re mixing up two different issues. Certification of radios is an ISED matter and has nothing to do with Department of Transport rules regarding the flying of unmanned aerial vehicles (AKA model planes and drones). On the latter, by the way, MAAC has done pretty well by its members so far, gettin...

Re: Ic certification for canada
That’s superseded by MAP-2, published August 2017 and available on the MAAC website. All these things are essentially just a restatement of the same situation. It’s clear what the regulations say and equally clear that there is no intention to enforce them. The best way to bring a little bit of prog...

Re: Ic certification for canada
I understand MAAC is working with Innovation, Science and Economic Development (the new name for Industry Canada) to facilitate certification in Canada based on testing for FCC certification. This would definitely be a step in the right direction. We’ve lived with the current situation for a long ti...

Turnigy QBot radio adapter
The Tx has to be in Slave mode so it will send the signal out the trainer port to the RF module (otherwise, it will be in Master mode and send it to the internal module). This is accomplished by plugging in the module with the Tx turned OFF; the action of plugging in then powers up the Tx in Slave m...

ERSKY9X Coding
I’ve been doing more testing with confusing results. The Multi Orange modules seem to work properly now but the iRangeX still seems questionable. Right now I have to do any testing in the house as there’s freezing rain outside! I find range checking quite variable indoors. However, this issue first ...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding
Hi Mike I just discovered a problem with the X7 version of r221g7 when using the Multi protocol menu. There are two ways to invoke Range Test, in the main protocol screen and in the screen you get when you exit that screen (see picture). When you use the main protocol screen, Range Test works correc...

Re: Turnigy QBot radio adapter
It’s like the AnyLink, a separate RF module with its own battery that plugs into the trainer port. The transmitter needs to be switched OFF so that plugging in the external module can turn it ON. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/q-bot-micro-quadcopter-w-2-4ghz-rf-module-spektrum-jr-futaba-compatible.html...

Re: Throttle stick reversed on one Tx
Earlier versions of the firmware did not have the Hardware menu locked. It was precisely because people would change settings they didn’t understand, and that only needed to be changed rarely, that the lock was introduced. If you had the transmitter on an earlier version you might well have reversed...

PCM is an obsolete protocol for FM radios. Ignore it.

Re: Internal and External module to same Rx
Each module has a unique ID number. A receiver can bind to only one ID number at a time. Hence a receiver cannot be bound to two modules.

Re: OpenTX 2.0.0
Your second question was whether it was worth upgrading. Kilrah gave a very clear answer which amounted to:
1. The release posts on OpenTX website state what upgrading gets you.
2. Only you can decide whether the changes are worthwhile in your situation.

Lemon Telemetry with ErSky9x
The purpose of this thread is to provide a place to discuss the use of ErSky9x with Lemon RX telemetry. Lemon telemetry uses DSMX/DSM2 and the Spektrum telemetry protocol. It is designed to work with current generation telemetry-enabled Spektrum transmitters such as the DX6, DX8G2, DX9 or DX18G2 (an...

Re: Taranis X9D+ channels are all wrong on the Rx
It’s not too difficult to move mixes using the transmitter. Just go to a line, press Ent to select it, then use the Move command to move it where you want. And so on for the required rearrangement. Not quick, but easy enough.

Re: Taranis X9D+ channels are all wrong on the Rx
Stick Mode and Default Channel Order must be set separately. Channel Order only applies to NEW models, it does not affect existing models.
Check that both are set correctly and create a new test model. I think you’ll find all works correctly.
