See this post. There are some photos with an overview of things wired up with a switch already in place. Albeit it's hidden from view.

Re: hk backlight mod
The HobbyKing backlight has both side with a thin white plastic. To tell which side needs to face down, look for the side with a clear protective film on it. I suspect many people miss this thin film and probably leave it on when they install the backlight kit. I remove that clear plastic film and i...

Re: hk backlight mod
Thanks Greebo. I like your method better than the method that have been shared before you. Your way means I can reuse the connectors as a port for the programmer. :D BTW, serial or parallel...here's a macro shot of the LED circuit board. It looks like the LED are in parallel to me. http://farm9.stat...

Re: Wanted- Hire for mod.
I'm at 92127...so it's not too far from San Marcos. I have many of the necessary supplies...wires, resistors, transistors. Depending on what you want done to your transmitter, we may need to place an order first. i.e. backlight kit, LiIon batteries, USBAsp programmer for firmware updates and ability...

Re: Wanted- Hire for mod.
What luck for you. I am in San Diego and have been doing a number of these conversions. Three so far for the local guys and two for guys sending their stuff to me from across the county. Got one on my bench right now as a matter of fact. Just waiting on the parts from HobbyKing to arrive. Go to my H...

Could we avoid to kill a module donor ?
Cam: real quick as I got to run. There is a thread on RCGroups that shows you how to make a rear module using the DSM modules so they can run with their Futabas and the like. Search for it. I'll post a link later when I get back home if you haven't found that thread.

Could we avoid to kill a module donor ?
The DSM2 protocol does provide model match.
Also, there are no binding issues on properly installed mods.

You could get the cable cre8tiveleo linked to above. Then buy the FrSky antenna from HobbyKing. Rig it up like the way this video shows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... 108#t=636s

Re: Nine-Eagles J6 PRO
The 270 is the new breed of helis Nine Eagles just introduced. It binds to the J5, J6Pro. Basically, their new line up are Futaba FASST compatible.
The older 260 is the one you're thinking of, with the toy like TX and won't bind to the J5, J6Pro.

Yeah. I am interested in a couple of their new heli line up. The FP Solo Pro 270. And the 125 CP helicopter. But I don't want another remote.

Re: DSM2 work
I do it with a SPST or DPDT switch. Either will work. But I only switch power. Basically, I solder the 5v line to the middle point on the switch. Then the left point goes to the 3.3v regulator to power the DSM2 module and the right point can go to the 5v pin on the rear module. The last thing you ha...

Re: mCP X Template
My apologizes. However, the main reason for this thread wasn't to troubleshoot my problem...but more to collect eepm template files for the mCPX. :) Hope that makes more sense. I can't get it sorted because I don't own the mCPX. It was a friend's who I did the DSM2 mod for. Thanks for the file 900su...

Actually, throttle hold was off. We give the heli throttle but the head won't spin at all. However, the collective was changing pitch appropriately.
Thanks for the link.

I thought I saw some mCP X templates shared before. I figured there would be a topic for this in this Template Library subforum. It could be the older DSM, not DSM2. The two protocol doesn't work with one another. i.e. Spektrum's Dx6 versus the Dx6i

Re: DSM2 work
That's odd. I've binded with SR120, mSR and 6400 RX from the UM Corsair. They all binded within 10 seconds the first time. All subsequent reconnects are near instant. Something doesn't sound right with yours. Anybody else have feedback?

Re: DSM2 work
LOL. Reading everyone's reply, I can see how it's confusing Tom even more. Tom: I think you understood properly before the recent replies. Grab the 3.3v regulator from the DX4e and reuse it in the 9x. Just connect the 9x 5v power source to the + input pin. The middle legs will output the proper 3.3v...

Re: Walkera DEVO 8S RF Module
This was on my wishlist. It would be awesome if it's possible. I can fly the DSM2 stuff. But I don't want to get the Blade mCP X. I am more interested in the Walkera Mini CP. But having to purchase a new TX just to fly that is keeping me from purchasing the heli. Hacking the Walkera module into the ...

I was waiting for that post to come out of moderation so I can edit it. But you beat me to it. I checked with my multimeter shortly after posting and it was indeed 470ohm. I replaced the resistor with a 320 ohm one I stole from and old circuit board I have that I use for donated smd components. :) H...

Re: hk backlight mod
I keep seeing the mention of a 470ohm resistor being used on the HobbyKing backlight. Mine looks to have an extra zero. 4700ohm. I use 2 li-Ion battery. So I get 8.4v. Looking at this thread, I think if I drop the resistor value to about 360ohm or so, I will get brighter backlighting. *strikeout* An...

Re: Eurgle 9x complete Modding
I use a switch with 3pins.
The 5v goes to the middle pin.
One side of the switch goes to the rear module to supply it with 5v.
The other side goes to the 3.3v regulator to power the DSM module and a LED indicator.

Re: DSM for dummys?
Added a pull up resistor and it works fine and showed no signs of interference from handling the wires. So I would suggest that the reversed diode with a pull up is better than the forward LED. See the original post with schematic here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=19988000&pos...
