I had a simular problem with my unit. I found that the nut on the antenna connector was loose. I tightened it down, and reattacted the antenna. All is good now.

Reflashing the firmware will make the good 9X into a GREAT 9x.

That did it. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS had deactivated the avrdude drivers. I had to reinstall them. Thank you for your help.

Do I need to purchase a separate programer if I purchase the smartie board?

If I buy the smartie board do I also need to purchase the programer, or is the programer built into the board? If I so not need to buy a programer do I just hook it up to my computer with a USB cable? Please forgive my stupid questions. I just purchased the 9X, and I am still in the learning stage.

Does the stock firmware support a delay function, or do I have to change to a different firmware?
