Re: Throttle is wide open after TX is turn off and back on

I think it's been written before, the FW does not encode any information while the splash screen / warning screens are showing. This is not a fluke, it's by design. For example: How would you transmit the signals before the switches have been reset? Since by definition the FW does not provide a sign...

Re: Throttle is wide open after TX is turn off and back on

Then the only possible culprit would be the ESC. The stock RF does not output a signal until all the screens are passed.

Re: Throttle is wide open after TX is turn off and back on

Can you post the EEPE file?

Kilrah is correct, the radio does not send anything until you bypass the warning screens. You might have the failsafe set so it shoves full throttle. Look in Frsky's manuals to see how to change that.

Just make sure you hot-glue the whole lot down. You do not want it to come apart and short-circuit something in flight. (ask me how I know)

Re: Changing to an Atmega 128

I wouldn't.... (go with the 128 that is) It's a nice challenge to unsolder and resolder but in the end you will find bugs. The filesystem is built for the 64. It probably can work with the 128 but I don't know what other issues will come with it. Other than that, eepe will not support it. I've been ...

Kilrah, it looks like this:

The top row is signal, the bottom is 5v+. The GND is connected with a separate conductor.

Re: PIPO32 - Monster ISU :)

I've done away with the connection board. You can now connect to headers that are on the board itself.
I'm now testing the first units. There are still some software issues but the HW is looking very good.

Re: Auto-off after x minutes

This is the best place to ask for features. As Crucial answered, this would require a HW change, and not a simple one. I guess that there are a couple of ways to do that, maybe power the radio through a mosfet but it's risky, any problem and your radio shuts off without you being able to turn it off...

eePe and Ubuntu 12.04 - Permission problems

Hi Guys, Apparently udev has been changed a bit and the rules file that we use to allow non-root usage of AVRDUDE needs to change. The use of the keyword SYSFS has been depreciated and replaced by ATTR. Upshot of this is that the rule we put in place doesn't work and we need to run AVRDUDE as root. ...

Re: Stereo microscope for electronics

Well, after using it quite intensively for the last couple of weeks I have one impression: I like it! I got used to the narrow FOV quite easily. The built-in light is bright enough and I found that I don't need to play around with it. The image is quite clear and bright and the depth of field (dof) ...

Re: AVRDUDE did not finish correctly

I would say that it's actually getting better. Now it really does say that it is not communicating with the programming board.

Did you clean the connections? Did you replace the board making sure it's flat and all the pins are parallel?

Re: PIPO32 - Monster ISU :)

Yup. The SW is pretty much the same for PIPO8 and PIPO32. PIPO32 has more channels, can do faster loops and can do true PWM (up to 100% duty cycles) but beyond that it's pretty much the same. BTW, I just hit on the idea to connect fets directly to the output pins. You could do this and control 4 sma...

It looks to me like the SM board is not seated correctly.
Try removing it, cleaning out the pads with a q-tip soaked with alcohol and carefully putting it back in place.

Re: ersky9x - what next?

Change for change's sake is not something I personally peruse. er9x, or any kind of FW is a bunch of compromises. The nice thing about open source is that you can choose what you want and you have a lot of options. While I agree that starting with a clean slate is great it's also impractical. Would ...
