Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

I think this now means that I can compile the Multi module code for the Orange transmitter module whenever I want.

How did this affect the flashing of the module, if at all?

Re: Play value VFAS - wrong value?!?

You can use something like festival voice generator or possibly like http://www.acapela-group.com/ that can generate sound files to be used in the radio.

I like the same voice for all my sounds as well.

So since my bootloader says 2.0.9, did I miss something when I updated the radio firmware?

OK. I did so more testing.

I wasn't able to produce the issue.

Guess I just got lucky.

Re: Companion 2.1.7 wont read from Taranis

While we are at it, what is the latest BootLoader and should the eepr number be the same as the VERS only without the dots? I have the following on my radio: Bootloader: 2.0.9 (found when I do three finger startup) Found the following on page 5 of the Radio Setup menu FW: opentx-taranis-plus VERS: 2...

Re: Companion 2.1.7 wont read from Taranis

It may not be relevant to the others having problems here, but in my case, if I unmounted the USB devices improperly, it caused companion to not "detect" the radio. Properly unmounting the devices corrected the issue for me. While it was confusing to have companion complain that it could n...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

This is great news for Taranis owners! Have a couple of questions that I couldn't figure out: - The wires from the radio soldered in the taranis go to the orange module, is that correct? - What software needs to be loaded onto the Taranis radio? Isn't clear if OpenTx 2.2 will actually do the program...

Re: Lock outs with Spektrum module

To be clear, as it is normally situation, the antennae tip does not point to the model, but it is such a clear distinction when doing the check. When the antennae is laying in the 9XR handle, it points left as I'm looking at the radio and is perpendicular to the ground (mostly) as I hold it. If I ro...

Re: Lock outs with Spektrum module in 9XR

OK. So after some playing around it seems that depending on which way the transmitter is oriented to the plane, it will lose connection. This was all done in range check mode. As long as the handle of the 9XR is pointing directly at the plane, but if the side of the 9XR trasmitter is facing the plan...

Output power for different modules

I was wondering if anyone has information regarding the amount of output power for each of the different modules that folks are sticking into the 9x, 9XR, Taranis and other radios. From what I have been able to find so far is: 4xe, 5xe - 100mW 6xi - 200mW Even those numbers are just gleaned from rea...

Re: Can version of companion and firmware be mixed?

Kalle123, That link doesn't really address the question for two reasons: 1. That link is mostly talking about bootloaders 2. It doesn't dicuss how the different versions of companion might impact the firmware or the eeprom data on the radio. It would be great to hear that it doesn't really matter, b...

Can version of companion and firmware be mixed?

Just as a general question: Can the version of the companion software and the firmware being used on the radio be mixed? For example, if I'm using companion 2.0.5, can I load version 2.0.7 of the firmware? Can I switch back to 2.0.5 if I later find that some problem was created on 2.0.7? Also, what ...

Re: Lock outs with Spektrum module

How am I to be sure?

It definitely works. I can control a plane and most times, things work like you'd expect. I'm not sure how to verify that the "level shifter works as intended" ....

At all the test points, the circuit behaves as shown in the diagram.

Re: Lock outs with Spektrum module

Kilrah, How does the module decide with mode to use? It is a 4xe module, so I'm assuming it transmits at 22ms mode....unless this is something that is set in the code...in which case I could mess around with that. ReSt, It is transmitting, because I can actually operate the planes, its just getting ...

Re: Lock outs with Spektrum module

Lock outs with Spektrum module

It seems like I'm having more lock outs when using OpenTX and my spektrum hack module than I do when using an existing 6xi. However, I don't know a good way to limit to compare the two? Does anyone have any thoughts on the subject? I"m not trying to blame the OpenTX firmware here, it is awesome...

2.0.5 - Radio system DSM start channel

What does the Start channel refer to in the Radio system section when DSMX is selected? In the transmitter, it shows which ID is associated to the model for model match. But when I read the settings from the radio, it doesn't match to that screen....so I was wondering what it was referring to. Mike B.

A couple more things come to mind...how are you verifying that the receiver is actually in DSMX mode?

Did you happen to take any readings of the radio before you transplanted the module?

Re: OpenTx 9XR and DSMX (4xe module)

Kilrah, Noticed you created an issue DSM2 broken? #1387 for this question. Seems like this might be related to specific receivers. I was able to test with an AR400 spektrum receiver and it seems to work in DSMX mode. Unfortunately I don't have a spectrum analyzer so the only way I can tell it is in ...
