Even better.

BTW, by "openTX forum" I didn't even mean openTX specifically, but rather the whole 9x/taranis ecosystem. I just happened to stumble upon openTX first and stuck with it, so I used it as a synonym.

Re: Open Source Firmware on brand name Radios

I see your point. Now with that out of the way, the remaining options are OpenTX and Devention. I assume that you probably favour the openTX platorms over the Devos (after all, this is an openTX forum), and I've come to know and like openTX myself, too. One thing I particularly liked in the beginnin...

Open Source Firmware on brand name Radios

Hi, I'm currently using openTX on a 9x which works great, but compared to even mid priced transmitters like the Devo 8s or the Spektrum DX series the 9x hardware feels just cheap. Right now I'm considering buying a Devo 8s, but I was wondering if these (the various 9x variants and the Devos) were th...

Another nRF24L01+ module

Hi, I seriously doubt there isn't at least one of these already out there, but I made one anyway. I made two versions of the board, one single sided and suitable for isolation routing (or home etching if you're into that) and one double sided for manufacture in a fab house. The boards use the ubiqui...

Re: send custom serial commands for specific models

So you're pretty much doing the same as this :) It's indeed very similar, but not quite the same as I plan to have a A7105 and a nRF2401 on my board. DSM2 is put out on the PPM pin (for module compatibility), and as that's not a "real" serial port it's bit-banged. What do you know.. Does ...

Re: send custom serial commands for specific models

Mike, you're right, my bad. Since I only own a 9X, I don't know what other manufacturers do with pins 2 and 5 of the module connector. I assumed that using those as RX/TX was kind of a hack that's not really supported with commercial RCs, since many commercially available modules like the FrSky have...

Re: send custom serial commands for specific models

I'm simply connecting the TX/RX lines of the AVR in my module to those of the AVR in my 9X (stock 9X board with ATMega128 and FrSky telemetry mod), so signal levels or inversion should not be an issue. I'm only interested in sending a simple command over the UART when a specific model (or protocol f...

send custom serial commands for specific models

Hi, I'm in the process of developing a multi-protocol, multi-transceiver TX module for JR/9X compatible module slots. Right now I've got an ATMega328P running a PPM decoder and driving a nRF24L01+ with the crazyflie protocol. Next step is adding a A7105 transceiver and implementing the Hubsan protoc...
