Re: Two RSSI Values
You cannot get telemetry data from 2 modules on an X9D. Both modules are connected to the same telemetry line and will continually corrupt each other's data, only one may provide telemetry at a time. XJT needs to be set to the "disable telemetry" mode if it's to be used simulataneously wi...

Re: Two RSSI Values
Explain your setup a bit better, because you can't bind 2 receivers in different modes with just the internal module. The set up is 2013 Taranis X9D with an external XJT module in D8 mode communicating with a D8R-XP, this is flying the plane with a FBVS-01 monitoring the flight battery. The Interna...

Two RSSI Values
Is there any way to change the RSSI ID of a receiver so that if you have two receivers bound to a model (D8 & D16) you can stop the RSSI values being merged and see both? (I do want both.)

Re: FrSky PPM output from Rx and Taranis Trainer port
[Edited] In an attempt to find out what was going on with these signals I bought a JYETech DSO150 oscilloscope - OK not a precision instrument - but better than a multi-meter. This confirmed that the R-XSR output was orders of magnitude smaller than that coming from the Taranis trainer port. Out of...

Re: FrSky PPM output from Rx and Taranis Trainer port
I have tried reducing the 10K to 5K and 5.5K (with what I had available) but it killed the pulsating "Master" indication. I tried reversing the polarity of the jack as per MikeB's suggestion but that also killed it from which I deduce the phase of the signal is correct. I think that also c...

Re: FrSky PPM output from Rx and Taranis Trainer port
Post by Kilrah » Mon Jan 13, 2020 2:01 pm You might need a pull-up resistor from the receiver supply to the PPM line then, maybe start with 10k. This is indeed the case! A single 10K resistor causes the LCD screen on the 35MHz JR Tx to pulsate "Master" as if the signal is not quite strong...

Re: FrSky PPM output from Rx and Taranis Trainer port
No, it is not a voltage problem. the rx outputs exactly the same voltage as the Taranis. I think you still didn't say what 35Mhz system that is. I still think it might be a polarity problem, but it could be also be that the receiver is not outputting any PPM signal. Are you sure you are not trying ...

Re: FrSky PPM output from Rx and Taranis Trainer port
solution If you power the receiver from its own supply, separate from the target transmitter, the you may invert the trainer signal from the Rx by connecting the ground from the Rx to the signal and the signal from the Rx to the ground of the target Tx to see if that works. Mike I didn't read this ...

Re: FrSky PPM output from Rx and Taranis Trainer port
@João As I understand it the problem is that Rx signal is incompatible with the 35MHz Tx input so what the Taranis is doing is largely irrelevant other than it works with a cable. I will try Kilrah's suggestion of a "pull up resistor" and if that doesn't work and you put some component spe...

Re: FrSky PPM output from Rx and Taranis Trainer port
Measured with a digital multi-meter: Voltage across buddy lead from Taranis: 1.00V, and when plugged into 35MHz Tx everything works! Voltage across buddy lead from R-XSR in CPPM mode: 14mV max, when plugged into 35MHz Tx connection not detected. Reversing polarity of R-XSR buddy lead makes no differ...

Re: FrSky PPM output from Rx and Taranis Trainer port
Is there a simple way to amplify the signal? As the Rx and Tx are powered independently and connected only by the signal cable and a common ground would reversing these and adding the Tx battery +ve to the signal cable work without destroying anything. Would a diode be necessary to stop the reverse ...

FrSky PPM output from Rx and Taranis Trainer port - Solved
I am trying unsuccessfully to get a FrSky Rx to mimic the output of the Taranis Trainer port in Jack/Slave mode. Why? Well I guess a few like me have some perfectly functional 35MHz equipped planes but would like to use OpenTx on a Taranis to control them. By bridging the trainer switch on the 35MHz...

Re: OpenTx 2.2.2 firmware bricked original Taranis 9D - Solved
Having got a clean install of Companion 2.2.2 and updated the boot-loader on the Taranis 2.2.1 the installation of the 2.2.2 firmware and boot loader using the DFU utility went smoothly without issue. I conclude that attempting to upgrade the firmware on the Taranis without using the DFU utility or ...

That was it! Moved the GPS sensor 5cm away from the receiver on an extension lead outside the model and it works properly. Before it was stacked on top of the receiver. Don't understand why the receiver should cause it a problem now when it didn't before but obviously it does. Thanks once again for ...

Re: Companion 2.2.1 and FrSky GPS Sensor (V2) Not working
I wondered about that so I put it on my flat roof with no obstruction higher than 10 degrees from the horizontal next to my running watch. The watch locks on in about a minute. The sensor is still seeing nothing after 15 minutes so I guess it is faulty?

Companion 2.2.1 and FrSky GPS Sensor (V2) Not working
If this has already been addressed I apologise but I can't find it. I am running Companion 2.2.1 from this build (companion22_2.2.1_amd64.deb) on the original Taranis X9D with LBT firmware. I have a GPS Sensor (V2) connected to an X6R Receiver and I have just noticed that it is no longer getting any...

Re: S6R PC configuration STK USB adapter
Unfortunately, it didn't fix the D16HV2 I tried it in. Mike. That's interesting. Although I haven't tried it myself (as I eventually returned the S6R for an X6R) I received an email from a friend who had the same problem I did, which said it now worked with both of his Taranis transmitters that had...

Re: S6R PC configuration STK USB adapter
It would appear that if you have an early Taranis with a D16HV2 RF Module then it is never going to work with a S6R Receiver unless FrSky produce new firmware. If you have a D16HV3 then all the good advice above is applicable. #1 - Where or how did you get this information? #2 - How many of those e...
