Re: Firmware corruption

Hi Kilrah Companion is 1.52, radio firmware is opentx-r2940. As for symptoms it doesn't seem "locked in" like it used to. At first i put this down to weather/ model untill i went on phoenix sim, controls seem wooly is the best way I can describe it. Of course there is the other alternative...

Firmware corruption

Hi I think I have corrupted my firmware by repetedly forgeting to "eject" after connecing to the PC. I am still running the older companion 9X firmware. My question is if I now update to the newer "open TX" is that a full install (ie no corruption) and can I use my old eeprom's o...

Re: Lost calibration?

Another question, if I update to openTX companion on my PC and the 2.0X firmware to the Taranis, would that also put a clean install on my SD card.
I assume I would have to reprogram my models to the TX as though brand new.
Thank you for your patience.

Re: Lost calibration?

Thank you dinamich. Just to confirm, If I ignore the eeprom in companion9x, calibrate my Taranis then download the eeprom from Taranis and use that in future, each time, download the eeprom, work on it and then upload back to the Taranis, and I should be O.K. Also, I have had 6 months of NOT using &...

Lost calibration?

Having just watched 1 of Scott Pages excellent videos, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7zA_tkH_Zc&list=UU-A2sf9a_BDbKs81HuU7p4w I think I may have lost my original calibration of my Taranis. I have only ever created an eeprom in companion 9x then loaded it up to the Taranis. I have then made ad...

Setting up a on/off light switch

I have just bought a "max thrust riot" (UK) also known as an "art-tech devil"(US) set up in to an X8R as follows :- Ch 1 Rudder Ch 2 Elevator Ch 3 Throtle Ch 4 left Aileron Ch 5 Right Aileron All good so far, but the riot has nav lights on the wings and I want to be able to turn ...

Re: Connecting a X8R

Thank you Mike.
This is the first time of building and connecting and binding an aeroplane. I have an e-flight Apprentice 15e which came with a DX5e all ready bound to the plane, I just needed to put the wings on, a battery in and we were away.
Learning fast.
Once again thank you.

Re: Connecting a X8R

Thanks for that and yes I prefer RETA! However, right now on my Taranis I seem to have both - RETA and TAER for the one model depending on which "page" on the transmitter I look at. Page 3 of 12 shows RETA (flight modes) Page 5 of 12 shows TAER (mixer) Given that I am new to flying and I o...

Re: Connecting a X8R

I am confused by two things here, on my Taranis screen for my V tail, page 3/12 "flight modes" it shows RETA, on page 5/12 "mixer" it shows channel 1 thr,2 ail,and in my case 3 rud+ele,4 rud+ele. 3and 4 are the V tail, and I understand why the share two channels. So do I connect ...

Connecting a X8R

Hi When setting up my V tailed glider (with flaps) in companion I changed the channel order to RETA.I have now loaded these settings to my Taranis. My question is do I now connect the rudder into channel 1 on the X8R, the elevator to 2, throttle to 3, ailerons (on a Y cable) to 4 and flaps to 5 or i...

Re: Hi/Lo rates

Just spotted the thank you button. Runour has it that one of the respected flyers at the club bought a Taranis and couldn't programme and so returned it. Thankfully I didn't know this when I was looking for a new transmitter. In my favour is the fact that I am a "clean sheet" with no preco...

Re: Hi/Lo rates

Thank you jhsa. I have only just got my Taranis, my one and only other transmitter is a Spektrum DX5e. I was hoping it was that simple, I didn't know if you could allocate more than one action to a switch. Happy days! Thank you Deadalus66 That hadn't occured to me, but I can see the wisdom in it. So...

Hi/Lo rates

I'm brand new to flying and learning fast, but please answer as if talking to an idiot! lol. I will then stand a chance of understanding you. Is it possible to set up Hi/Lo rates for aileron, elevator and rudder so they are all together on one switch. I have bought my first electric glider and want t...
