Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

After Taranis Q X7 entered the market with the price of 115$ investing any more money to 9X looks pretty weired to me. You know, having held Both Taranis flavors and Horus in my hands and played with them, I still prefer my 9x radios with upgrade boards.. and by using Ersky9x I have many more possi...

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

I still think someone would have to order it, assemble it, and sell it. I can solder that chip, but I don't think that people without some experience will be able to do it without damaging the chip or the board. Also, it would be very difficult to get a group of people together to build this, especi...

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

Ok, but you don't see normal users soldering the 100 pin processors, right? ;) Unless someone produces this, I don't see it being viable.. But of course, the files are there, if you can build it, it is already possible. You might be the only one though.. And add all the prices you just posted above....

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

Yes, you can send the 9XT board to be made, buy the components, and build it yourself. I believe Steven released all the needed files to the public. But it would be very expensive I think.. there were a few boards in the past. Skyboard, Ar9x board, ArUni board, 9xtreme board. I think all schematics ...

Re: RE: Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

I've considered before whether using a second processor could help with the 9X, but I've never found a way to split the functions between two processors to reduce the flash/RAM requirements on the AVR processor. Mike That would be more or less what the 9XT is doing? The difference is that it does a...

Re: flashing eurgle 9x

I believe the 0.5A regulator is more than enough.. the radio shouldn't take even 100mA :) Be careful with the pinout of the new regulator. If it was me I would try to find a low dropout regulator. I attached the datasheet for the L4940.. L4940_LDO_Regulator.pdf This could also be useful to you.. it ...

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

No it doesn't have a DAC. It does, however, have timers that may run at up to 72MHz. These are able to provide PWM output (driven by DMA), so better audio with fewer filter components needed. Nice :) I'm not sure whether any work could be offloaded from the main processor. To add another RF module ...

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

Mike, I do think that this chip has a DAC? Would this make it easier? I mean, less components? Better audio quality? It certainly has many pins for other features. For example, would it be able to use this.board to generate signal for another RF module? If so, would it be reliable? Perhaps one of th...

Re: flashing eurgle 9x

Yep, pad is on the wrong pin :( This explains the second problem "target doesn't answer".. You will probably need to solder a wire between the resistor connecting to the correct pin, and the smartieparts board.

About the regulator and cap, try Ebay or aliexpress..

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

Mike, as unfortunately there aren't any upgrade boards for the 9x radios, would you see any gain in using one of those Arduino compatible boards with STM32f103C8T6 as voice modules? It has more pins available than the traditional arduino based on the AVR chip. That could probably be beneficial? I am...

I don't know what docs you are following to flash the board, but have a look at these files. I think you might be missing the last step, which is what Mike has been trying to say.. :)

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

The way serial communication works between the ArduVoice (arduino based) module and the radio implies that we do remove the left vertical trim switches from the main processor, and connect them to the voice module to be controlled by it. This frees the processor pins to control the voice module. The...

Ok, progress.. this error tells me that the USBASP is recognized, but the radio doesn't. probably because of that SCK pad being in the wrong place. No, that would be another problem.. :( perhaps you have a so called V1 9x mainboard that has the SCK pad on the wrong pin?? if that is the case then you will have to do some soldering. Re: Any 9x upgrade boards available???

Encoder is possible with the stock 9x board. For the Bluetooth mod the way we have it working with trainer capabilities, you will need a more powerful board. Unfortunately it seems that there is none available at the moment. The only possibity would be to buy a Frsky radio. The Taranis QX7 for examp...

just for clarification, "beeper" is it for buzzer?do i need to cut the traces for atmega pin5 and reconnect the buzzer to "beeper" pin, or just leave the buzzer as it is and no need to modify? Re: ERSky9X on 9XR Pro

Yes, you should flash "ersky9XR".
"Ersky9x" is for the 9x radios with skyboard or Ar9x/ArUni boards.

Go to Model Setup / protocols menu, select the external module and enable it. Then select the right protocol for your module.

For the COM port settings go to the Model Setup/Telemetry menu.

But Mike, taking some advantage from the idea, what about being able to connect an arduino with an SD Card module to the trainer port to flash the firmware, and save /restore modules? arduino could also make an USB connection to the PC?? ;)
Might be possible only on m128 and m2561??

Thanks

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

The Devo implementation, as far as I understand has limitations.. For example, You can't use voice when using a trainer setup. The implementation on a 9x radio is internal and it doesn't have limitations. If building and installing an ArduVoice module, which is arduino based, you can even save model...
