Re: Firmware not loading to Taranis ?

The settings looks to have "noHeli" ticked, but the filename for flashing doesn't!

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

On the STAT2 display, there is a "Total On Time" timer. The value is reset by a LONG MENU press. It was added to keep track of how long the radio has been running since the battery was last charged. You, currently, need to reset it when you charge the battery for it to be useful. I'm adding a new ch...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

I've been thinking about the request for having logical switches have a delay when switching off as well as when switching on. While investigating this I noticed the eepskye simulator doesn't do the delay, so I've been fixing that! I've concluded this is likely to be something that is rarely needed....

Re: Flysky TH9X and IrangeX IRX4 4inn1 module

Have you done the mod with or without an inverter/buffer. I think the IrangeX module comes the telemetry sent as inverted serial (as needed by FrSky transmitters). If you haven't used an inverter/buffer in your mod then you either need to add one, or reflash the IrangeX with multiprotocol firmware s...

How old is the radio? There is a small lithium battery on the main board that keeps the clock running when the radio is powered off. If the radio is quite old, this my need replacing.

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

The multiprotocol module isn't much, if any better than a XJT. Without any heartbeat synchronisation the latency can get quite long. Also, the multiprotocol module sends channels 1-8 in one frame, then channels 9-16 in the next, 9mS later. I understand that the XJT actually may send some or all of c...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

PA25 now added in as another input. I've tested it on an AR9X board. From the early days of the SKY board, I had been using it to drive the 9X stock buzzer, but I've now removed that code to completely free the pin off.

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Yes, if you don't want to use the heartbeat signal, PB14 still works as before. If you have PB14 in use for a switch, the option doesn't appear in the protocol menu. PA25 will appear as an extra switch source (but you don't want it yet as you don't want to mod your radios  ). I reckon witho...

Should you want to operate the radio with no audio output (e.g. late in the evening at home and don't want to disturn others), power on holding BOTH MENU and EXIT pressed.

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

I assume you are using EXT1-3 and PB14 for your extra buttons. Looking at the AR9X/ARUNI and SKY boards, we do have PA25 spare. It is used on the 'PRO to enable the SPort output driver. I should be able to make this available as an extra switch/button input so if you then use that instead of PB14, y...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

That will take some time to do while keeping the encoded values for items that come after PB14(DAC1) the same. Mike Edit: Not sure, since the heartbeat signal is open collector, you could wire a push button to PB14(DAC1) at the same time. Then, if using a XJT, you use the heartbeat, and if not using...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

This does seem to work in a 9XR-PRO, although I don't like the look of the heartbeat signal. The XJT drives it from an open collector driver, but the only pullup is the one in the processor. Since there is a 0.1uF capacitor on the signal, it doesn't get much above 2 volts before the heartbeat pulls ...

If you start the radio in bootloader mode (power on with both horizontal trims held inwards), what, exactly, appears on the display.
What file did you put on the SD card, and in what directory?

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Bob: This has no effect on the telemetry performance.

João: This is only active if you are using a XJT module. If you are using the PB14 as a switch input then if you enable the option all that happens is it won't synchronise and performs as it currently does.

Re: Voice setup for APM 6 Modes with Ail D/R and Aux3 Way Switch

As is often the case, there is more than one way to achieve the same end result, no one way is necessarily the "correct" way. Having recognisable filenames is clearly useful. Using the logical switch setting like: v=val Fmd 2 does mean the switches used to select the flight modes only need to be con...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Having been doing some measurements regarding latency when using FrSky XJT modules, it is clear to me that synchronising to the XJT heartbeat signal is important. It is also then useful to send all 16 channels to the XJT in 9mS, rather than just 8 channels every 9mS. On FrSky transmitters, the XJT h...

No apology needed, many things are not obvious, and possibly not well documented. I need to update the Orange module flashing document to mention the "app" method. I only implemented that a few weeks ago.

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

Why "of course"? Ersky9x also runs on the QX7 and supports flashing the multi module from the Tx. Because openTx doesn't directly support flashing the multi module, I've created a method where you run an "app" on the radio to do this. The "app" is run from the bootloader. To use it, you need to chan...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

You are correct, flash the Arduino sketch to the Pro Mini and then I use the Pro Mini to flash the OrangeRX. This does just flash the bootloader to the Orange module. The bootloader supports the STK500 programming protocol, so it is possible to flash the module using a FTDI type device from a comput...

Re: Program Mega2560 via USB - how to?

In settings, choose communications, then try to find what programmer AvrDude should use, possibly Arduino. If you have flashed the '2560 using a USBASP, it is likely you have erased any bootloader that was in the '2560, and you need one to flash using the USB connection.

The Hardware menu is always disabled on power on unless you hold the left trim to the left at power on, so to disable the menu, just power off and on.

If it is part of the menus in openTx, I can't see it in Companion, so I think it is still a LUA script there.

The script that Hertz is working on is in the script language used in ersky9x. It will be posted as a download for the SD card.

Re: Voice setup for APM 6 Modes with Ail D/R and Aux3 Way Switch

Clearly this works. I added the "Fmd" switch in the voice alerts so that you don't need to define any logical switches to get the voice alerts. You may set two switches to enable a flight mode, then use the "Fmd" value with ALL for the voice. That way, if you change the switches that select the flig...

Re: Voice setup for APM 6 Modes with Ail D/R and Aux3 Way Switch

Do you have the six voice files called Fmode0.wav to Fmode5.wav in the \voice\user directory on the SD card? The actual name needs to be the same for all six, just having the digit at the end increasing by 1 each file, and the "Voice File" entry in the Voice Alert then needs to be the name of the fi...

Re: Voice setup for APM 6 Modes with Ail D/R and Aux3 Way Switch

Create your 6 voice files with filenames of Fmode0.wav, Fmode1.wav ... Fmode5.wav.
Set up a voice alert with the trigger set to ALL and the switch set to Fmd (last option).
Set the file type to "name" and the filename to "Fmode0".

I'll see if I can check it is OK with the multiprotocol module, I certainly had that setup working with a DJT in a 9X.
