Re: Trouble with Turnigy 9X and ER9X

In your first post you said you are now just getting "LOADING MODEL 01". Is this still the case?
If so, it indicates the firmware is detecting the MENU button as pressed.

You will almost certainly need to extra argument of -b 19200 as this is setting the baudrate for COM5.

Re: Trouble with Turnigy 9X and ER9X

Put the files into a .zip file, then post them.
I'll look at the file you have posted.
Do you have a '64 or a '128 processor?

Mike.

Edit: The file you posted shows only 1K of EEPROM, repeated. What settings do you have in eepe for BURN|CONFIGURE?

But you will still only be testing a couple of samples. Keeping to the spec. means all processors will work OK across temperature, voltage and manufacturing variations.

Re: M9 Hall effect gimbals

I wouldn't trust running at 3.3V. I don't like running the '328 at 16MHz on 3.3V. While it works, it is not guaranteed. Go flying on a cold day and you could have problems!

Re: M9 Hall effect gimbals

A single 3.3V regulator should be OK to power all 4 gimbal circuits. There is a downside, the analog input to the processor will still handle up to 5V, so you wont be using all available 10 bits of the conversion (0-1023), only 0-682, so less resolution. The other radios mentioned not only work from...

Re: Using FrSky S6R with ersky9x

My only suggestion is to connect the signal and ground to the Taranis/STK, and provide a separate, switched power supply to the S6R.
When you get to the "finding device" point, then switch the power to the S6R on.

Re: M9 Hall effect gimbals

Take care to check the supply and ground connections. The pots on the existing gimbals are OK if you get the power and ground swapped, but I suspect the hall effect devices would get damaged if that happens. (And don't rely on the existing wire colours, they seem to be a bit "random"). Mike.

Since Taranis normal gimbals have been fitted, then these may well fit with minor mechanical fiddling. Electrically they look to be compatible.

Re: FS-TH9X Module question?

With a XJT module in the back and the the protocol set to "XJT" (PXX), then selecting BIND in the menu causes the red LED on the XJT to start flashing. If this works, then the PPM/PXX pin is connecting and working correctly.

Re: Burned USB port by cross linked cable

Taranis and 9XT are the same, there is a diode for the power to the radio, but the 5V goes directly to the processor to detect the USB is plugged in. The STM processor only has the firmware in it, that does not need to be read out as it is available anyway. The EEPROM is a separate device. The STM a...

Re: Burned USB port by cross linked cable

In that case you will have applied -5V to the processor pin 42 (PA9). That will almost certainly have burnt that pin, which is used to detect the USB cable is plugged in.
It is possible the data signal pins are also damaged. They are connected through 33 ohm resistors (R45 and R46).

Re: Taranis DEAD !!!!!

With the power switch on, please measure the voltage across the outside 2 pins of one of the gimbal pots. You should get 3.0V.

The resitance measurement of R90 may well be incorrect while it is in circuit. Try the above voltage measurement next please.

Why first chan = 6? Try setting this back to 1.
If first chan is set to 6, then the mixer channels 1 to 5 are not being used, channel 6 is sent as channel 1 to the module.

Re: Taranis DEAD !!!!!

Since the STM bootloader works, the Taranis isn't "bricked". Please check: R89 (10K), one side should be ground, the other goes to processor pin 37. R90 (7K5), one side should be ground, the other goes to processor pin 94 and R91 (3K0). These define the boot mode (STM bootloader or flash o...

Re: Taranis DEAD !!!!!

When flashing using the STM bootloader, the radio is powered from the USB. The 5V from the USB is regulated to 3.3V for the processor, so this main regulator should be OK as well. If you haven't tried this, switch the Taranis on, then plug the USB cable in. What, if anything happens on the radio and...

I've been wondering for a while how much of the available processing power ersky9x is using. I've finally found time to investigate this. We are using a multi-tasking OS, which has an "Idle" task that runs when nothing else is available to run. I've made this count how many 0.5uS timer tic...

Re: Limit throttle with a pot

I think openTx is the same as ersky9x and the answer is NO, you will get an output of 0 to 200%. This, if used alone on a channel, will be limited to output 0-100% over the first half of the pot movement, the second half will do nothing. Use: +50% P1 Offset(50%) to get 0-100% output over the full po...

Re: Limit throttle with a pot

It is in the "Safety switch" menu!
Try:
X ELE -100 Thr
The 'X' is a "sticky" safety switch. This means when you enable the throttle, you still need to put the throttle stick to -100% before the throttle output will respond.

Re: Possible to output RSSI on a channel on 9XR Pro OpenTX?

That method is for ersky9x, not openTx, which is what the original poster requested.
Using a Scaler for this is one of the reasons I added them, they act as a method to "route" data.
