Re: ERSKY9x Questions

If you set the 6-pos to "--", then go to the 6-pos calibration, does the 4-digit number on the top line change when you move the 6-pos switch? If so, if you set the calibration values, does the indicator (6P0-6P5) change correctly?

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

Is the 6-pos hard coded in A7 or for a future Ax? As it is with A7, if I do not assign a pot no. to it, it does not work at all. And will there be the 7th telltale column indicator for it later? You mention DSM - what is that for? The old Spektrum DM9 module or suchlike? Or for the 'hacks' that wer...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

I have hard coded the 6-pos switch. No need to assign a pot to the 6-pos function. I just haven't got as far as removing the option. I've been changing the PPM output to be driven by DMA, to test it all works that way, as the DMA is needed to handle PXX/DSM/MULTI. I have this working now on the prot...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

I don't understand why the 6-pos calibration values don't get saved, when the contrast does. They are all in the same file that is always written to the SD card when you shutdown. Mine do get saved. Please try the following: 1. Read the file "RADIO/radio.bin" from the SD card, zip it up and PM it to...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

OK, I may be mis-understanding what isn't being saved. I'm assuming you are saying that the 6-pos switch calibration values are not being saved and that if you reverse the throttle stick in the hardware menu (highlight the throttle stick image) that isn't being saved. Or, do you mean the settings ar...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

If the DJT/D8 pair work OK, then I think the problem may be to do with the voltage level on the PPM signal. This drives to battery voltage, via a 10KI resistor and is pulled low by a transistor through 100 ohms. Did you try changing the polarity of the PPM signal? Are any radio settings being saved?...

Re: 9Xtreme Add 2nd Internal XJT Mod

I renamed PXX to XJT as I thought it made more sense!
Use XJT as the protocol. Look at the telemetry value for SWR, what is it?
It should be below 35.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

I've posted "A7". I've added a delay on switching the 6-pos switch as a channel jumped back to -100% when using the 6-pos as the source. Testing with a DJT and I get no servo jittering. The pulse width (nominal 300uS) and the polarity of the ppm signal did not adjust with the menu changes, these now...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

I've reduced the startup time and hence the time you need to keep the power button pressed. I need to re-visit how that works as if you skip the splash screen, with the power buttong pressed, it may begin the power off by displaying "STOPPING". As long as you release the power button within a second...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

Odd, I don't think any code assigns the volume to S1. I don't have a physical S1 connected so I wouldn't have done that. It is correct that the power switch should be held until you get to the splash screen. THis is to avoid an accidental power on. I'm not sure why A3 didn't wait that long. I'll rem...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

The next test version will, at least, log the stick positions (if set in the logging menu).
I'll need to fiddle a bit to add switches as different transmitters clearly have different numbers of pots and switches and types of switch.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

I'll reverse S1 and S2, I assume you have the volume set on S1. I did say there might be a volume problem! If beeps are working, then voice should also work if you have the voice files on the SD card. That left column under the main display is the channel outputs. They should be non-zero when PPM ou...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

I've posted an "A4" version. This should sort all those items. You will need to run the stick/pot calibration again. There are now 6 bars between the stick telltales. You will need to use the hardware menu to calibrate the 6-pos switch. There are some items in the hardware menu I need to remove (e.g...

Re: 9XR & Frsky XJT Telemetry

The XJT already drives a (inverted) serial signal out on the bottom pin of the module connector. You just need an inverted inside the radio to handle that. Note that this serial runs at 57600 baud (not 9600 baud of the DJT). If openTx for the 9XR doesn't support the PXX protocol for the XJT, it is u...

Re: Template does not setup mixes using TAER order?

There are some settings in the HELI menu you might need to adjust. The template is just that, a template. It sets the general sort of settings you need, but specifics, like the direction of response to sticks may need changing due to the exact mechanics of your servo setup. See the settings like AIL...

Re: Wrong .bin Burnt to Taranis = screwed up Tx

Check the "Filter ADC" setting in the hardware menu. Set it to OSMP (Over SaMPle) if it is set to Single. Also in the hardware menu, you may set a deadband for the stick centres. This can improve the centering, without affecting normal operation. Note that the hardware menu is protected to avoid acc...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

The Taranis Plus has a spare analog input and ersky9x supports the use of an analog input to act as an encoder, the 3 signals being combined into a single analog value.
You could replace one of the pots with an encoder therefore.

Re: Wrong .bin Burnt to Taranis = screwed up Tx

Have you got "X9DP (Taranis Plus)" set in the preferences for the "Version to Download"?
Eepskye uses this setting when creating an EEPROM and when writing it to determin the size of file to write.

I've posted an "A3" test version for the Horus. At startup, immediately after initialising the display, it pauses, flashing the red and blue leds 3 times, with the display set to all blue. When you connect the USB, with the bootloader running, Do you get two drives appearing, one of size 512K and the other of size 32K?

And can we trust that? Imagine the SD Card goes bad while flying a model, what would the consequences be? Should be OK. Radio and model data is read into RAM and used there while flying. Data may be saved while flying, if you change a trim setting, but even if the SD card isn't working, that should...

Re: Template does not setup mixes using TAER order?

That sounds odd. You normally need to set it to a specific value, or it is set when you bind in AUTO mode. The "default" is 0. Try setting it to 7, it was 0 in the EEPROM you posted. Using 8, or higher for "Option" causes a different mode of transmission as only 7 channels are sent in a packet. Mike.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

The MCU on the Taranis doesn't have any EEPROM on the chip, the EEPROM is a separate chip. The early prototypes had 64K!

The Horus is using the SD card rather than EEPROM. This method could be ported to the Taranis to overcome the EEPROM limitation.

Re: 9XR & Frsky XJT Telemetry

The XJT telemetry signal is inverted serial, so you will need an inverter on your radio if the telemetry is going to work at all.
