Re: GY-521 and NO_BARO : MPU-6050 setup freeze

I2C scan is only performed in the MS5611 part of the code. That is the reason why I asked to activate the MS5611 even if it was not connected. This test shows that your mpu6050 is working. You are even getting the acceleration offsets on pc terminal. It could be that there are some conflicts when de...

Re: GY-521 and NO_BARO : MPU-6050 setup freeze

First it would be good to know if your mpu-6050 can be detectd on the I2C bus. One easy way to test it is the folowing: - in the config_basic, declare that you have a first baro sensor = MS5611 (but do not connect a MS5611) - in oXs_MS5611, activate the option #define DEBUGI2CMS5611 - in oXs_config_...

Re: OpenXsensor fully loaded. Is it possible?

a sonar sensor is not supported by oXs. oXs can support an airspeed sensor (simultanously with baro and GPS and others sensors). There are 2 kind of sensors that can be used for airspeed. A digital one and an analog one (this one is cheaper but less accurate; it requires also a cheap ads1115 module)...

Currently oXs emulate only the GAM protocol.
In theory it shouls be possible to emulate other protocol predefined by Hott too.
Do you have an idea of the protocol(s) that you want.

Re: Alt/Vspd and Cells won't co-exist

I just made a test with an oXs having only a MS5611. I used your config. It seems to work: I got Alt, vspeed, vfas (=0) and current (=0). I did not got cells because oXs does not send cells data if voltages are not in expected ranges. Could it be that your arduino are running with a AVR168 MCU inste...

Re: Alt/Vspd and Cells won't co-exist

Your config seems ok. It seems that you a using a AVR328 at 8mHz (3.3Volt). Perhaps the MCU has no enough power to perform all calculations in due time. I don't think this is the reason but if you have a 16mHz (5v) arduino, it could make sense to test it. Otherwise we can try to activate some debug ...

Re: GPS lost communication with Arduino

The GPS module has a 3.3 voltage regulator but this is used to power on the GPS module. When a 5 volt Arduino is used, it can generate a 5 volt signal on his output pins while the GPS input pins does not accept more than 3.3 volt. Still the GPS input pins have probably an internal diode connected to...

Re: GPS lost communication with Arduino

I presume that your GPS is working if U-center could display such information because I expect that this program sent some commands to the GPS at startup in order to recognise it. So we can try to make some tests at oXs side. Do the test one by one. - 1) First, you can try to increase the delay oXs ...

Please note that I recommend having a resistor between GPS RX pin and Arduino pin 6 because Arduino output a 5Volt level and GPS is normally 3.3 Volt. Re: GPS lost communication with Arduino

In principe, the version of oXs in the master branch on github should work. There is no other firmware. There could be a wrong configuration in files oXs_config_basic.h and oXs_config_advanced.h (or a wrong wiring between arduino and GPS) So, I suggest that you first check your configurations files....

Re: OpenXSensor HoTT Temperature

OK, Great. Note that a resistor of 100K (associated with a 100K NTC) is good to measure temperature around 25 degree but probably that it will be less sensitive for high temperature. Probably that accuracy will be a little better is the resistance is about the same as the NTC resistor at the tempera...

Re: OpenXSensor HoTT Temperature

To further debug the issue, we can first force a fix value (this just to check if the issue is in the transmission part or in the measurement part). To do this, you can change the line TxHottData.gamMsg.temperature1 = (voltageData->mVolt[TEMPERATURE_1_SOURCE - VOLT_1].value ) + 20 ; by TxHottData.ga...

This is strange. It looks like the voltage measured by arduino changes a lot. Do you have have the right connection to Arduino pins. Re: OpenXSensor HoTT Temperature

Perhaps there is a bug in oXs. Perhaps temperature is calculated internally with 1 decimal and the Hott protocol does not accept one decimal. Re: OpenXSensor HoTT Temperature

In file advanced you made several mistakes. Please read the file oXs_config_description.h About NTC sensors it says: * oXs reuses the mVolt calculated by oXs. The config must be adapted in a such a way that this mVolt is equal to the raw value returned by the ADC * 1000 (for better accuracy) * There...

Re: Analog speed sensor drifting maybe a idea...

Yes I suggest that you keep your modification based on delay. You could also furthermore increase the delay to reduce the drift. Up to you to see how long you can wait. Note : take care that when you are on the field and if there is some wind, this wind would have an impact on the "zero" if the pito...

Re: Analog speed sensor drifting maybe a idea...

So you identified a drift from the sensor : it goes quicly from 206.5 to 202 mv. After 3 min you have also noticed a drift in the telemetry data. It is not clear from your report if the drift over 3 min results from ADS1115 or from the sensor. To clarify this, did you measure the voltage on sensor w...

Re: Analog speed sensor drifting maybe a idea...

Perhaps internal temperature of ADS1115 increases to much when oXs ask for many conversions.
When airspeed is not used for vario compensation, it should be possible to reduce the frequency of ADC conversion.
This could perhaps help.

Re: MPX5010DP

I think you can use it (as any analog sensor). Just take care that: - you this device seems to provide a voltage of 0.2 volt (instead of Vcc/2) when there is no differential pressure. So, no need to add 2 resistors going to a pin of ads1115. Just put the pin to Gnd. - the sensitivity is different. S...

Re: Reading analog pressure withMPX5700DP

I think that if you transmit a voltage (e.g. with #define VOLTAGE_SOURCE VOLT_1) and not a temperature (so keeping #define TEMPERATURE_SOURCE NTC as comment), oXs sent the data with 2 decimals (e.g. 10,21 V) and it will be identified as "Voltage 1" in the jeti box. If you want to replace "Voltage 1"...

Re: Reading analog pressure withMPX5700DP

As the sensor delivers an analog voltage it is quite easy. Just connect Vcc, Gnd and then Vout (from the sensor) to one of the arduino analog pin (A0, A1, ...). Then in the config, you must ask to measure a voltage (on the arduino pin you select). In the config, you have also to fill some values for...

Re: Is there any chance to implement the Jeti EX bus?

I do not think it is possible to implement it in oXs. Arduino pro mini (or nano) being used for oXs has only one UART. It is already used to get data from GPS module. Communication with the receiver is done using a software serial (UART implemented by some code). I expect that this software serial i...

Re: Possible to integrate GY87 in OpenXSensor ?

It is not clear for me your concern about the drift on the speed. Is it the vertical speed (calculated by BMP180) or an airspeed (based on a differential sensor). For the vertical speed there is normally no reset function. But even if the first value is not zero, the values should trend to zero quit...
