Well done! There are a lot of Taranis owners looking for something like this. I will build one this weekend.

Re: The haptic upgrade.
OK,
I have had my Taranis less than a week. I am happy.
What the hell is Taranis plus?
What are the advantages of upgrading to Taranis Plus?
Does it involve a new board?
Why should I bother?
Regards
Alan

I got some of the detail from ShowMaster's picture but not all. Doesn't look like an ISP programmer port - shame.

Re: Introduction to the openx vario/altimeter
Well I'm almost ready to power and program mine. I messed up and bought the deek robot Arduino mini pro so the pinouts are a little different and I think the boards miss labeled RXD or 0 ? instead RXI. I bought the sparkfun FTDI programmer and it's pinouts don't match the deek robot board either. A...

Re: Search for Replacement 9x Potentiometers!
True - I hadn't really considered that. However, if a linear pot is fitted and the gimbal calibration is carried out, how is the resolution relevant? A specific angular movement of a gimbal will deliver an equivalent servo movement and an end stop move of the stick should deliver a maximum servo thr...

Re: Search for Replacement 9x Potentiometers!
Four pages later, here is my view. The actual pot resistance is not that critical, since the wiper is connected to an analogue input on the Atmel processor, which is high impedance and doesn't actually care, only being interested in the voltage (0 to 5 volts) at the input. In addition, the range of ...

For those who like the idea but use Turnigy stock TX modules - see the other post by Kaos in this forum: http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=560#p6948 The product files for the HK TR6A V2 RX have useful data: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__12901__Hobby_King_2_4Ghz_Rece...

Headtracker & FrSky Wireless Trainers System
Hi, I have just started FPV and came across the usual HT and Trainer problems. I posted a couple of questions here and in the Pub. Jhsa and Gohst helped me out and I built this, which covers all of the issues. Case and wiring is a personal choice, I used what I had. http://imageshack.us/a/img145/230...

Re: Strange Trainer problem
Thanks Guys, Since my last post , I have got it all working. The problem was that I calibrated the trainer input with the throttle closed. Thus the master TX got the wrong centre position -Gohst is correct. I suppose RTFI applies here - still it got the tx's some fresh firmware and increased my unde...

Hi Guys, Two ER9xs. One standard with r776-NOHT the other with an frsky internal module and FrSky-NOHT-r776. Both TX work fine in all respects on a number of different models. Connect a buddybox cable - mono to mono The standard works as slave with Frsky as master. When I connect them Frsky as slave...

Re: trainer cable
Hi, Trainer cable should be Mono to Mono, pin to pin and shield to shield, although a standard commercial stereo 3.5 jack to jack cable will work. I also understand that, with ER9X firmware, the PPMin Mod (inline resistor) for the standard Turnigy RF module is not required. Perhaps MikeB could confi...

Re: Head Tracker + Teacher/Student trainer Cable as PPM impu
Hi Kilrah,
Thank you for the reply. The student radio is my Frsky modded ER9X and I have a D4R-II. I think it is just matter of putting a bridge in the RX and reading the PPM - I will check.
Thanks again.

Re: Head Tracker + Teacher/Student trainer Cable as PPM impu
OK, I have just taken my first FPV flight, well half of one actually - I flew and landed FPV and my Safety Pilot, Pete, launched it for me. It is a Bixler 2 with HK/Foxtech 5.8 Ghz VYX/RX and AIO goggles. Both Master and Slave TX are ER9X (ER9X-NOHT and FRSKY-NOHT respectively) and there is a HK G-O...

Re: Well, I modded my 9x to FrSky - what next?
OK - I've moved on a bit now. I have hub telemetry from the sensors including the GPS and vario. Is there any simple way of zeroing out the vario reading at ground level? (I just used to turn a knob on the altimeter during pre-flight in full size gliders years ago.) or do I have to do sums when I'm ...

Re: Well, I modded my 9x to FrSky - what next?
Mike, Cool - with age comes patience - I can wait - so much else to learn! Talking about which, I have done a little Arduino programming and would like to read the source for ER9X. I am by no means a programmer but an interested party and would like to be able follow some of the more techy threads W...

Re: Well, I modded my 9x to FrSky - what next?
Since my last post i have discovered the A1/A2 piece you mention. The voltage detector is the FLVS-01 whose info appear at the bottom of the GPS display. It would be useful if the total voltage could be viewed and set as an alarm much as A1/2 can be set. I dont have a FAS100 yet but the custom telem...

Re: hardware mods for frsky
Hi, 5 months too late possibly. Most of my FrSky kit is over a year old and with the exception of the hub does no need to be updated. There are some subtle variations of fail safe that can be obtained from the V2.00 and V2.1 updates for the two-way TX modules but unless you are going to use them.......

Re: Well, I modded my 9x to FrSky - what next?
Mike, Thanks - I have got my head around some of the menus. But how, for example, if I have no analogue sensors on A1 and A2, do I remove them from the basic display? How do I get my nice shiny new digital voltage sensor to work with an alarm? If it is there I will find it. If not perhaps in a futur...

Re: People willing to help with modifications
I am more than happy to help with 9x/FrSky mods. I am better at hardware than software and good with a soldering iron. I have made all the mistakes on my own kit - so others should benefit from my lessons learned. I live in the Paderborn area of Germany. I am English but speak sufficient German to d...

Well, I modded my 9x to FrSky - what next?
Hi, I have just, minutes ago, finished the FrSky mods on my 9x. I have a hub and an assortment of sensors and connected them up - it all works but I am now in information overload. Is there user level manual/wiki that explains all the options in the firmware or have I just started a new adventure? I...

OK Newbie here, Just registered, Friend has 9X but I am getting one, I have FrSky modules in my Futaba FC-16 and FC-18, I have FrSky telemetry receivers hub and sensors although I am using mostly non telemetry receivers at present. I have a spare DHT and have just come across references to "ER9...
