Re: QX7S wireless (bluetooth) trainer mode has notchy output

Yep.

It may or may not be possible to do better. OpenTX implemented the Bluetooth protocol so that it would be compatible with FrSky's own implementation in their Horus firmware without trying different approaches.

Re: QX7S wireless (bluetooth) trainer mode has notchy output

That's known and is just how it is. BT LE is too slow, wasn't a good choice for this purpose and is mostly useless as a result.

Re: Horus X12S not reading / writing firmware

Flashing firmware has nothing to do with the SD, you likely didn't follow the instructions for loading the DFU driver and flashing with the radio OFF.

Re: Lost my model match when installing 2.2.1

As I said I don't have an X9D nor D equipment at hand. I'm on a work trip until the end of the week and the only radio I have with me is the X-Lite.

My understanding is he ported some of the existing apps to the x-lite (every app needs to be ported to every new radio).

It won't work with earlier receivers. You should have nothing to set up other than defaults.

Re: What is "Electricity Alarm"

There is no "electricity alarm" anywhere in the stock system, but "Inactivity alarm" is the closest sounding one that exists. Not receiving RX voltage wouldn't do an alarm unless you configured one yourself. Having the wrong sound files for your version could however cause incorrect things to play, ...

Re: What is "Electricity Alarm"

Youi're probably hearing "inactivity alarm". Triggers when you forget the radio on and don't touch it for some configurable amount of time.

For the SD card you need the right contents for your version. Version is in the radio settings menu, version screen.

Re: Lost my model match when installing 2.2.1

But then, I think you guys should test it yourselves before removing the option from the menu, isn't that the logical thing to do? :) ;) We didn't remove anything, it was never there. If receiver number is in some FrSky version for internal in D8 they would have added it themselves without notifyin...

Re: Lost my model match when installing 2.2.1

Well it's not impossible frsky implemented the same trick as the multimodule into recent XJT firmware without telling anyone... would kinda be surprising if they did, not telling anyone would be just the ordinary procedure though...

Guess someone has to test.

Re: Lost my model match when installing 2.2.1

I think you got confused. Model match never existed with D series using FrSky's own equipment, so it never worked with the internal module and never will. The Multimodule apparently implements a trick to make it work anyway so you can do so with it, and that's probably where it worked before the upg...

Re: Lost my model match when installing 2.2.1

As far as we know D8 receivers don't support it, and I also can't see anything in the multiprorocol doc stating it has implemented a trick to make it work anyway...

Re: Lost my model match when installing 2.2.1

AFAIK it doesn't apply either since the receiver doesn't support it in the first place.

The number was probably shown in his older version but didn't do anything, and is now correctly hidden.

Or you could just use a multiprotocol module. Not many still bother with the hack module since that's available pretty much out of the box.

Re: DSM2/DSMX hack module binding problem

If the module binds to DSMX then it means it's not getting the DSM2-only flag and should be autoselecting DSM2 when needed.

I believe newer DX4e's are DSMX-only since DSM2 isn't EU-compliant anymore since 2016.

You want to make a backup just in case, but everything will be upgraded automatically, no need to restore it. Check everything thoroughly after upgrade, and read release notes to see what you might need to adapt for 2.2.
