Re: X series reciever, 4 pin header pinout ID

The connector is the factory programming header. Function is not the same on all receivers as they use different processors with different programming interfaces. It just happens that on some the serial port used to communicate with the built-in bootloader is the same as the one used for SBUS. There...

The ESD protection was not originally there, it was only added at some point after too many people shot their board while adding an SMA pigtail.

Re: "Smart" Throttle Cut?

I don't know why you'd absolutely want to select the switch before it exists.

If I'm setting one up and realize I need another one I'll move to setting up that other one, then reference it in the first.

Re: Not sure where to find these settings on my X9D plus

Forget about that bit, the most likely thing is you haven't configured the proper receiver type and interface in your pixhawk. You must check in the ground station software for proper control signal operation way before you do anything with the actual motors. There's a LOT to set up in a flight cont...

Re: "Smart" Throttle Cut?

Companion is trying to be "clever" by only listing logical switches if they are defind when the editing window is opened. If it is going to do that, then in my opinion, it should do it dynamically so that when you create an entry for another logical switch, it then appears in the drop down lists fo...

Re: Grounding to Rx (FrSky D8R-XP) of on board glow device

But even if they did, I still don't see how having 2 batteries would solve this. Of course you spare more amps/h with two batteries and they will last longer, but to me, that's just another battery to check and replace between flights... Because with 2 batteries your glow battery could be empty/dea...

Re: Grounding to Rx (FrSky D8R-XP) of on board glow device

No additional ground, that goes through the BEC already.

But check your glow driver's documentation, it might not support a 2s lipo on its input.

You likely have a wiring/power problem so maybe make a detailed photo/schematic so people can see what's wrong.

Re: Taranis X9D Plus SE Antenna problem

A DC "short" is normal on many RF circuits. BTW testing for that with a multimeter can be destructive. If 2 boards do the same and the antenna was properly soldered on both and with good ESD protection measures then maybe it's really the antenna that's faulty. Pulling on the cable can have ripped th...

Re: master/slave with two taranis

You can swap the roles of the one who has control of the switch (still only the master transmitting) but it is usually discouraged as it is not a "fail safe" configuration, if the master-slave link is lost the student ends up on his own in an already stressful situation.

Yep.

It may or may not be possible to do better. OpenTX implemented the Bluetooth protocol so that it would be compatible with FrSky's own implementation in their Horus firmware without trying different approaches.

That's known and is just how it is. BT LE is too slow, wasn't a good choice for this purpose and is mostly useless as a result.

Flashing firmware has nothing to do with the SD, you likely didn't follow the instructions for loading the DFU driver and flashing with the radio OFF.

My understanding is he ported some of the existing apps to the x-lite (every app needs to be ported to every new radio).
