Re: One step closer to my ideal radio...

This thing doesn't even exist yet, pictures there are only 3D renderings. So nobody knows how it's designed and what it will run.

Re: Compiling Companion from Source

We use gcc-arm-none-eabi-4_7-2013q3. Sure it's old, but it's got a 4-year reliability track record for our purposes so we're not in a hurry to change that.

There's a Dockerfile in the repo for the prod environment if you're into this.

Re: QX7 inside battery charging - mainboard connected

No reason to worry. The only risky situation would indeed be if the battery got disconnected but the charger was still connected to the circuitry as it could be briefly supplying 30+V to try and maintain the set charge current.

Re: Compiling Companion from Source

You're probably running cmake in the wrong folder, it needs to be run in the root folder, NOT the companion subfolder like in 2.1.

Powerful UHF modules cause speaker noise on most radios. Won't change until someone explicitely designs a radio for this particular use.

The predefined mixes are not in the input menu, they are the different "function buttons" on the pages like Camber, Airbrake, aileron diff etc more or less in Futaba style.

No idea really. Could simply be that such old receivers have a buggy bootloader that manages to trash itself.

Re: FrSKY X-Series receiver bricked (X8R no leds - bootloader corrupted?)

The whole reason for encrypted firmware files (and thus a bootloader that decrypts them) is to prevent 1:1 copies. That fully relies on nobody else than them having access to the bootloader file so it's obvious they won't give it to you. You can send them back to them or to one of their premium deal...

Re: The PIG mod (creation of the PIstol Grip Housing)

AR9X is "said to come back" but it's been so a bit too long to still be believable unfortunately. The Q X7's mainboard is pretty much bigger than the X9's, so I'd probably have stayed with the X9 for the bigger screen (and parts are available too). Although you now get the rotary encoder which is ni...

When you connect the Horus via USB with no SD card installed you get a new disk drive on your computer. Copy the contents of the FLASH folder into that, overwriting what's existing.

Makes no sense to have a voltage reg there, plus all pins are connected to active circuitry while that chip in the PDF has an unused pin.

Re: Need help to identify a component marked "SF"

Given the placement it is most likely a hall effect sensor to provide RPM reading and/or rotor angle. It's possible it might run without if it's only used to give RPM info to whatever device the fan is connected to. Note there are burn marks on the top left of your PCB too, and corrosion all over th...

Even withing a few feet I often get a constant message of "telemetry lost... telemetry recovered.." over and over I have no idea what to make of this. Well it is since I don't know of any other that supports smart port telemetry. The older apps were abandoned before that even existed so don't support what people have been using for 4 years already.

That's typically you setting the "switch" entry of the mixer line that should stay empty for this use.
