Re: 9xr Pro not power on problem.

The board will work fine with out C79

C79 is a simple "bypass" capacitor, that sits across the 3.3V power lines.

How have you determined it is faulty?

If you send HK a video of your USB connection issue , they may send you another radio...and let you keep your old one.

Hi,
R9 is a 0.1R current shunt. U1 is a "high side" current monitor ...that sits across R9

Just short out R9 and your good to go ... The mAH and unit current display will be incorrect ..but thats no big deal...

FYI , you can make a Non-polar cap by using 2 of them in series ..attach the two positive leads together , and use the two minus leads for the connection .... The thing to remember is that capactiors used in series , will half the capacitance rating ... so to get 4.7uf , you would use two 10ufs in s...

The extra signals were added to make the board house think that it was part of the main circuit. Re: Realistic Joy Stick Flying

The pots need to act as a variable voltage divider. So the pot "sits" across the 3.3v supply , and the wiper is fed to a A/D input on the microprocessor. 5K to 10K pots are normal ..this provides enough current draw to provide a clean output on the wiper. You need to get some JST headers and make up...

Hi, here are some thoughts on the noise problem. I found some good info from some TI data sheets ...They are much better written than the ISSI one which is a obvious copy of this chip from TI. http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tpa2005d1.pdf Another note I found: In applications which use a DAC to dri...

Re: Is it bricked? Never read about this before

Yes the ARM chip can be changed ....do you have the skill/tools to do it?
It can be done with a Hot air removal tool , or using chipquick on the solder connections.

The user manuals explain how use the SAM-BA program to reload the software.

Re: Is it bricked? Never read about this before

I think you have damaged the ARM chip , By Hot plugging the RF module ...The module uses a direct battery connection , so say 12V ... when you Hot inserted it, the 12V and PPM pin connected BEFORE the Ground pin.
It is possible that you injected 12V into the 3.3V PPM output pin on the ARM chip.

The other Core design I was working on , needed to many things to be added to use as a stand alone board.
This way it makes it easier for DIY'ers to connect and test their boards..the JST style wire harnesses are available on ebay for cheap..

Do you have a 9XR or a 9XR Pro?
The 9XR Pro ARM chip can be reset .. If you have a 9XR with a AVR chip , then this will not work.

Re: 9XR-PRO Hacks and Fixes

The problem with using the voltage divider, is that the current available to drive the input of the A/D converter may be to low , and introduce noise. The A/D input has about 100K impedance , so this will "load" the voltage divider and cause errors. The OP-amp acts as a Buffer and increases the driv...

Re: 9XR-PRO Hacks and Fixes

How strong is the signal from the Hall device? you may be able to drive a resistor divider (like the 3.3V 9x LCD does).
Or a small quad op-amp like a LM324 , could do the level conversion... and provide a nice drive signal to the A/D converter.

The 5V regulator supplies power to the 3.3V regulator... if you are seeing 3.3V at the test point , then the 3.3V Regulator is OK. So it appears that the 5V regulator is shutting down ... for some reason... If you have a 7805 and are confident in swapping out the two parts , then it is a quick way t...

Re: Is it bricked? Never read about this before

Yes , check the voltages first.. The 5V regulator is either bad or there is a short causing to much current draw , the regulator is shutting down , and then re-starting. Hence the blinking display... If it is good then the 3.3V regulator needs checked.. Also DO NOT grab the 5V regulator pcb when it ...

Re: Is it bricked? Never read about this before

The fuse is OK , or the READY LED would not light.

My best guess is you damaged the 5V switching regulator ...This could be replaced by a 7805 linear regulator for testing , as this in Not a SMT part.
