Re: New openTX features

Thanks. I am running my old Corona V1 module in PPM mode and comparing it to the output from the Multi module. Pascal is assisting me in defining the Corona V1 protocol. The Multiprotocol module has so many protocols and on my Taranis I see where I can enter values on many protocols. I am not sure w...

Re: New openTX features

Yes, most of them seem to be using ersky9x.
Opentx is able to read all the Multimodule protocals and display them as options
so I assume someone on the opentx side knows the meaning of the options??

Re: New openTX features

I hope this is a good place for these questions. I am running a Taranis X9D Opentx-x9d 2.2.0 (85863358) I am using a Banggood Multiprotocol Module (stm32). I am working to add the Corona V1 receivers to the Module. When I select protocol PPM I see two timing numbers. The first is the PPM stream cycl...

Companion multiple radios and Profiles

I have a question about multiple radios, profiles and sharing models through Companion. I assist others with their Taranis radios. We Have a small group consisting of five radios. Four of them are Taranis X9D's , a new one is a X9D Plus. All the radios stay reasonably up to date and are running Open...

LUAxx used as sources in mixes

Where can I find documentation for the definition and usage of the LUAxx as MIX SOURCES? When I ADD a mix I see the LUAxx available as a SOURCE but I have not found documentation on what they are and how to use them. I am new to LUA scripts. I would like to output a value from a LUA script and use i...

I also notice that the eepe and hex files are the same size.
Are they identical files?(are they both hexadecimal formats?)
The bin file is less than half the size of the other two.
Interesting.

.eepe vs .bin

I am running 2.0.6 on a FrSky Taranis and Companion 2.0.6 I notice that when I save my models and settings in Companion a .eepe file is written. (the options are .eepe .bin and .hex) When I back up my models and settings on my Taranis a .bin file is written. Companion seems to work with any one of t...

Donations

I would like to make two donations, one for OpenTX Firmware and one for Companion.
From the donations tab I see how to make one to OpenTX.
Would a part of this donation make its way to Companion or
is there a more direct way to donate to the Companion work?

"who cares"
I guess I care. If I have a SWR of 75 it means one thing to me (get out of the sky).
If I have a RSSI of 75 it has a very different meaning (I am a happy pilot).

Re: Taranis SWR Survey

I find it interesting that in the Taranis manual from www.frsky.com they show a screen image in the telemetry section with a SWR of 75. I would love to know what antenna is being used to get this reading. Seems pretty high to me. This image shows up twice in that manual around page 3 and 17 (the pag...

Re: 2.0.1 Ext module failsafe

Yes, if the transmitter signal dies the receiver will take over in a predefined failsafe mode (if it is a failsafe type receiver). I may be misunderstanding something that happened to me with a previous version of the software. I had a model setup to enable a trainer via a switch. I plugged in the m...

2.0.1 Ext module failsafe

I recently updated my Taranis / Companion to 2.0.1
I have noticed that Failsafe Position is no longer offered for external modules.
What is the thinking behind removing this feature?

Re: using two different 2.4 modules simultaneously

Thanks everyone for all the good input. My original concern had to do with interference due to the two 2.4ghz antennas being so close together. No one seems to have had much of a problem with interference. I will try it out with some long range testing.

using two different 2.4 modules simultaneously

I set my Taranus up to use the internal FrSky module and an external Spektrum module at the same time. I sent channels 1-8 to one and 9-16 to the other. Everything seems to work fine. I pointed the antennas 90 deg from each other hoping this might reduce interference. I have not done any type of ran...

Re: Smart port and old sensors

Kilrah, Thanks so much. Everything is working now. For clarity of other people reading this post the connections are as follows. The port used on the FAS-100 is the three pin GND/RX/TX port. The port on the Vario is the four pin Data in port. The GND and TX pins (first and last) of the FAS-100 go to...

Re: Smart port and old sensors

Yes. I have looked them over very closely. The FAS-100 comes with the two pin connector and wire for Din / Dout (black / yellow). The Vario comes with four pin connectors showing where black and yellow are connected (there is also a brown and red wire). If they used the same colors / locations betwe...

Re: Smart port and old sensors

OK. I have a X8R receiver, FVAS-02H Vario and a FAS-100 Current monitor. As I understand it I should be able to plug the Dout from the FAS-100 into the Din of the Vario and the smart port of the Vario into the smart port of the X8R. Problem is that the Dout of the FAS-100 is a two pin connector (bla...

Is it true that the ones that can be daisy chained will have both a din and a dout and
the ones that need the hub will only have a dout?

Smart port and old sensors

I have seen that old hub data port sensors can be connected through the vario to be used with the x receivers.
My question is can multiple data port sensors be daisy chained (din to dout to din to dout to vario din) through the vario
to interface with the x receivers?

Re: Another Noobe trying to compile for Taranis

Thanks all once again.
I loaded the libraries and was able to make for Taranis.
I still have to revert to the 4.7, but I don't expect any problems there.
It is certainly helpful to have these forums.
Thanks again
