Re: SPort device updating
Mike has said that when 2.0.18 is released he will add the maintenance mode to it.MikeB wrote:Once it is released, I should be able to download the source files and then I should be able to build it with "maintenance mode" in it.

Re: Frsky - Europe needs the D8 protocol and D-Recievers
Doesn't Horus have internal and external module capability? João I use the external module bay on my existing Taranis for a Spektrum module and if the Horus does indeed have an external module bay then that is what it would be used for. The Hitec solution is better thought out, selecting the protoc...

Re: Frsky - Europe needs the D8 protocol and D-Recievers
On the rear cover of a well known UK model magazine there is an advert for the Hitec Flash 8 radio. To quote a part of the sales info. "Triple 2.4Ghz protocols ensure the Flash 8 is compatible with previous and current Hitec air receivers" It would seem that Hitec is looking after it's exi...

Re: SPort device updating
Hi Mike,
With OpenTX 2.0.18 about to be released would you have the time to make this version available with your maintenance mode upgrade?
Thanks,
Alex.

Maintenance mode on upcoming Open TX 2.0.16
Has the maintenance mode up date for the 2.016 release been removed? It doesn't appear in the open or closed list anymore.

Re: Taranis and DSM2 mods
I did a little experimenting, If you can dispense with model match you can set a single model number. Taranis warns that receiver number is already in use, but just ignore this. Alternatively I might move all my Taranis receiver models to model number starting at 21 and keep the first twenty clear i...

Thanks for the reply. It's all a bit vague. I will keep the numbers under 20 as you suggest.EjectSteve wrote:I have problems with some receiver numbers with certain RX's. I'm not sure if there is anything official, but I think folks keep their RX numbers under 20.

Re: Taranis and DSM2 mods
I built the DSM2/DSMX hack using DX5E module and the board and design that J.Prikkel produced and it works fine but I am still a little unsure about setting receiver numbers in the Taranis. How many models could be created in the Taranis, Is there an upper limit to receiver numbers that the module c...

Re: Taranis and DSM2 mods
One thing that I would have liked to see on the Pickkel board would have been the addition of an LED to indicate that the module was powered. Has any anyone added an LED to the board?

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module
I also built my module using John Prikkel's board. I used the module from a DX5e and it works fine. This does not help you but at least you know the system works.
One thing I did notice with mine was the receiver had to be put into bind mode before the transmitter otherwise it would not bind.

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for pre-2.0 testing
I have just taken the plunge and started using OpenTx 1.99. (19-05-14) build One anomaly I did notice with an existing model was in the logical switch screen. I have a switch that activates when the timer reaches a certain point, on OpenTx the time displayed in the V2 box is 120 and on the same loca...

It's a recurring theme about the poor quality of the FrSky manuals. Could they not pay some of you electronic chappies to write proper manuals for their products.

I just bought one from Aloft dated 09/08/13. I assume this will not have the most recent firmware.
EDIT: Wayne at Aloft has offered a refund or exchange for the up to date version.

Taranis subtrims
I was reading this part of the manual regarding subtrims: "Subtrim behavior: When set to default, adjusting subtrim will only shift the center of the servo throw. Given a -100% to +100% order from the mixer, the servo will still move exactly between the lower and upper limits, without clipping ...

Re: Low RSSI
Do you really need to know your RSSI level 50 times per second (as with D modules)? The refresh rates of all elements have just been evened out a bit. Now we get about 5 a second, much more than enough and leaves more bandwidth for other things. It's not so much a case of needing to know the RSSI l...

Re: Low RSSI
I too have had low RSSI warnings when using the X8R receiver. I have a hack model that I use for testing any new receiver and I replaced the fitted D8R-II Plus with the new X8R ( wire ended aerial ). Both the receiver and aerial position were in exactly the same position in the model as that the D8R...
