Re: Is X10 a new Frsky radio?

@Tadango

Where exactly are we seeing the new X10 code?

So from this:
Yes it will be like the X12 but without GPS, IMU, joystick, front sliders ect. Same screen and CPU :) Gimbals will probably be the M9.
This suggests that it will be a "Baby Horus"...?

Cheers!

He says he will post photos of the new radios soon...

Bluetooth module?

Help!

Could someone give me a definitive circuit for connecting a Bluetooth serial module to a Taranis X9D radio.

Where are the connections?

What are the voltage levels that the Taranis UART use?

Thanks!

Re: FrSky X12D or X16D...?

Can anyone confirm rumors that they (FrSky) might be unveiling it at the Chicago Model Fair in October?

Anyone heard about that?

FrSky are showing on the exhibitors list for that show...

Anyone going?

Cheers!

Re: FrSky X12D or X16D...?

@Kilrah,

Understood. I'd just never seen these photos before, only the computer generated design studies.

Question: Is this a real Horus or just some sort of mock-up?

Thanks!

Re: FrSky X12D or X16D...?

@MikeB,

Didn't think a touchscreen was possible with the current GUI / menu system... You kinda need big graphical buttons for that...

Do you have idea of the production schedule?

The new ones have haptic feedback, correct?

Thanks !

Re: FrSky X12D or X16D...?

@Kilrah Great! More questions then: 1) Price of Taranis X9D Plus? 2) Does it have a touchscreen? The User Manual from FrSky suggests it has, but I can't see how... 3) Is it an RGB LED backlit screen or just blue? 4) Any idea of a UK Distributor that has them yet? Thanks again! city_kid PS: Do you al...

FrSky X12D or X16D...?

Hi all! These questions have probably been asked many times, but I can't find good clear answers: 1) Is there a new version of the FrSky Taranis X9D on the way? 2) Is it called the X9D Plus? 3) When will it be generally available? 4) Is there a new radio coming soon called either X12D or X16D, like ...

Taranis A1 Speech...

Hi all! I have a D8R-IIplus RX on my training plane. I have main battery volts connected to the A1 analog telemetry input via voltage divider. Telemetry on the Taranis TX is perfectly calibrated so I get an "A1 Low!" warning at 40% battery remaining and an "A1 Critical!" at 20% b...

Re: LUA Script Limitations...

@rdeanchurch

I checked my scripts, and it's NOT bad code.

If I comment out some other bits of code, then the new code starts to work as designed.

I think it's something to do with the execution time that OpenTX allows...

LUA Script Limitations...

Hi all! I have a Taranis X9D with OpenTX v2.0.8 firmware. I have been developing some customer LUA telemetry screens for my Quadcopter. While writing the scripts I sometimes find that the script would produce a blank screen even when my code was good! I investigated the LUA documentation for OpenTX ...

Re: Convert PWM to Voltage for RSSI

@Ozzy Ahh right! This is what I'll need to check when I finally get a Taranis setup. My little circuit would however sort a few problems: 1) Move the 0 - 3v3 RSSI signal up to proper 0 - 5v signal level. 2) Have the ability to output a serial message / byte / packet to represent the RSSI value. I wi...

Re: Convert PWM to Voltage for RSSI

@Rob Thomson Rob, the problem is that I don't actually have ANY Taranis hardware (RX or TX) yet to test on! My design is based on beliefs and assumptions ... The circuit works fine on the bench when I use a PWM output from an old 72MHz TX / RX, which I believe produces the same kind of signal as the...

Re: Taranis X9D schematic...

@Kilrah

Thanks for that!

Any idea on the voltage level? 3v3 / 5v / +/- 12v(!)....? Also the baudrate? 9600 8N1....?

So I guess if I stick serial data in at the model end, it will come out at the X9D end....?

Thanks for you help on this!

@MikeB

Are you saying that inside the Taranis X9D unit is an inbuilt XJT module, and that has the serial channel connections on it?

Please clarify...

Re: Convert PWM to Voltage for RSSI

I am yet to get an FrSky RX but I believe that the RSSI signal is a 1000 - 2000 microsecond pulse, once per frame. This means that you should get a 2 millisecond (max) pulse with a large (18 - 20 millisecond) gap. This would mean that the "charge pump" capacitor / resistor solution will no...

FrSky Taranis X9D Serial Port

Hello openRC Forum! First post here... I am currently waiting on delivery of an FrSky Taranis X9D. I will be using it with a Hexcopter with camera gimbal, using a MultiWii flight controller. I want to send various MultiWii telemetry messages back to the ground via the Taranis serial channel. There a...
