This is just too funny! ROFL

Drone drops like a rock! And it has app for your phone! Select and press the button. Drone drops.

I want one!

A company that claims they can detect and control errant drones within a perimeter (airports).

Maybe that is the answer.

Re: FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems Registration 2015

We need to fight for our right to practice our hobby. Bob B. Exactly, that is why drones have to stop flying in the same airspace as real aircraft. We have to fight against those who are putting other people in danger. I just saw a video today of a guy going to 1200m high, right on the approach to ...

Or, we could use passenger jets to ram them and knock them out of the the sky. Since people still don't get it.

That answer is as vague as the question though...

Thanks. I have those numbers.

Maybe it was Mike B.

Re: OpenTX 2.1 telemetry system preview

Kilrah, When you had posted this original thread I thought I saw a post that gave some 'practical' (do not exceed) numbers about the max number of SPort ID's and and the max number of DataID's. Do remember that post or those numbers? Of course the type of telemetry device will have different numbers...

@ShowMaster

Sorry to here it. Not much to say that has not been said.

I just saw another YouTube video of multi-rotor (drone) aircraft flying up to 3300ft in January.

Morons. God help us!

Remember that you don't want to be "that guy"!

I bet the FAA is going to make him the poster child (ie. smacked with fines!). "Don't be this guy!" And you know what, I'm fine with that. He deserves to get the fines.

Re: FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems Registration 2015

Unfortunately all Federal Parks are now "No Drone" zones. Even a simple park flyer will get in trouble. Sad. Next it will be State and City parks. The only winner is the company that is making the signs. We fly at a State park and have signs that indicate that the area is (maybe was) dedic...

Re: FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems Registration 2015

Let us not forget that there were other situations that caught the FAA's eyes. With FPV equipment people were flying airplanes WAY to high and WAY to far ( 5 miles?!?!). I remember someone that launched an airplane from the top of the Dubai Tower and filmed the FPV flight. So, in a way, FPV was the ...

Re: FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems Registration 2015

If you fly near an airport it is normal the they apply the 400ft limit, and I do understand why they worry so much about the model flying over that altitude. Many people that are in the hobby have no idea of what is being up there and how dangerous it could be an aircraft meeting a model. Just look...

A lot or most AMA RC fields are at and/or within the 5 mile restricted area for flying RC's. I understand it cost $75 to join/register with AMA and there is no AMA RC fields near me anyway, so that's out anyway. Check in with the AMA's website and the comments. http://www.modelaircraft.org/aboutama/gov.aspx As always, the 99.9% of people will not get in trouble, even if they totally ignore it all. But when some does something donkey stupid and hits something or someone then I bet the FAA will smack them wit...

That is what I get out of it.

However, the placement of this guideline on the FAA website is intended as an educational piece and more specifically intended for those operating outside of AMA’s safety program.

Re: FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems Registration 2015

The AMA has suggested waiting until the last moment. That is good advice because if the numbers of people that register are HUGE the the FAA will declare a HUGE victory. As far as un-powered gliders: I think that I'll just have to have rather generous eye. Those clouds look about 400 ft. high, right? I'll stay under that.

Vario, sure\, I have one, but it's not hooked up to an altimeter.

The 1000ft ceiling is much more realistic. Unless within 5 miles of an airport (controlled).

Re: FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems Registration 2015

I'm with Mike B. We have been flying gliders safely for decades and it seems that the FAA ignored us. 400 ft is not even a good launch altitude, let alone thermaling room. Now the glider clubs will have to make a decision to either ignore the 400ft rule or disband the club. I also doubt that the tur...

Mike, A1 and A2 are an interesting problem. I thought I saw some docs that indicated that it is possible to send a command to turn off A1 in the receiver. Can't remember where it was. Re: Fields A3 A4 on on of the 3 telemetry pannel

Kilrah,

I went back and checked my documentation and I think had it wrong, I thought it was 1/1000's but I think it is 1/100's.

Full range should be 330, correct ( 3.3 *100 )?

I just want to make certain that I have it correct so I can correct it later if there is an eeprom update.

Kilrah,

That is what I was seeing ( downloaded and compiled 2.09). A difference between the A1/A2 and A3/A4 behavior.

When will 2.09 be released? My Companion has not notified me version 2.09 for downloading.

Ahhh,

Saw filter. Limiting the data to 255 and adding an offset to make the range of the units 165 - 333.

That would do it!
