Re: EU, Universal Binding Rxs
I've capitulated! I've upgraded the Tx for the EU firmware and am now wading through all my older Rxs upgrading them, and there's a lot of them!

Re: Universal firmware for X8R Rxs
Many thanks. Tried that but neither EU or non-EU will bind. My Tx is at 2.2 and still works fine with all my original Rxs but I've a nasty feeling that I've got to convert it to EU or non-EU and update all my old Rxs and there's a fair number.

Re: EU, Universal Binding Rxs
I purchased all the kit from T9 Hobbysport. The new Rx was ordered as a 'Universal' but that wouldn't bind so I swopped it for an EU version but that won't bind either. When I upgraded my Tx I also loaded the Rx firmware onto the SD card and tried using that to flash the new Rx but still no joy. I r...

EU, Universal Binding Rxs
I have an elderly X9D Tx, one of the second batch to be imported into the UK. I also purchased a job lot of Rxs to install in all my models. And it has given stirling service all these years. The Tx is now at 2.2.1, boot loader and Companion also upgraded and everything still works fine with my old ...

Re: Trims on Flaps
The program above works in that the flying surfaces move in the way that I want them to move and in accordance with the flight modes. But trimming them for actual flying is proving troublesome. I still have not worked out the relationship between trims, sub trims, and all the other servo adjustments...

Re: Trims on Flaps
O.K. I think that I've cracked it.
I changed line 1 to TRMT but juggled the weight and offsets to get what I wanted. I used a curve to fine tune it. It all looks a bit fragile but I'll try it and see how reliable it is.

Trims on Flaps
I fly gliders which have ailerons and flaps. These (both aileron and flap) are trimmed up fractionally when in 'speed' flight mode to take out the slight camber in the back of the aerofoil and fly a bit faster or in 'thermal' flight mode to add a bit more camber for more lift. Ailerons are easy to s...

Re: Aerials
Many thanks.
I tested the RSSI in house. I got a reading of 83 with the Tx about 1 metre from the Rx which fell to 75 when I put my hand in the way. I'll set the alarm at 55 at first and see what happens.
Thanks again, it's appreciated.

Aerials
I'm at the stage where I need to set up my (twin) aerials. What I've done so far is to make up a triangular piece of lightply, two sides of which are at 90 degrees, glued two tubes on these sides and slid the aerials into these tubes. Then I've velcroed the triangle inside the (glass) fuselage, unde...

Mike
As Kilrah above says, Romolo has sent me a fix which can be seen above.
I have no clue how or why it works but it does. I would certainly never have found this fix on my own.
Either way, very many thanks for your interest and help, it's appreciated.

Re: Setting up electric motors
Mike, I've managed to repair my Taranis. (I 'welded' the plastic switches onto their posts with a soldering iron.) I tried putting the throttle on a switch rather than using flight modes and that made no difference. I also tried another ESC. Original was a Jeti Spin 66. I tried a Hyperion Atlas and ...

Re: Setting up electric motors
Mike, The motohold function on the JR kit switches off the motor. i.e. the motor won't start. I don't know how it does it but it all works perfectly. I use the same stick for the landing flaps (in a 'land mode') so obviously I have to disenable the motor. This is a widely used set up. However, I'll ...

Re: Setting up electric motors
Mike, Thanks. I think that I understand what you are saying. I'll experiment later today. I did try enabling/disenabling the throttle via a switch rather then flight modes but the same thing happened. I'm going to try some different ESCs first. On my JR kit there is a 'moto hold' function which is e...

Re: Setting up electric motors
I deleted everything deletable and started again. Re-calibrated Re- bound No flight modes And the throttle worked fine (ch1) - started at about -95% and ran up to full speed at +100% Then I set up the flight modes - Cruise on FM0 (default), Land on FM1, Launch (throttle) on FM2, both these on switch...

Re: Setting up electric motors
SolutionXL.eepe - still won't open. Either way I've just about exhausted the possibilities. Model set up - nothing in there that I can see Heli - not relevant Sticks - nope! Flight modes - set up and work fine Mixer - Tried weight and offset but both do what's expected and neither helps. Servos - Su...

Thanks. I'm currently working on a MAC and your file won't open, I suspect because it's a MAC. I'll have a go on my Windows machine.

Re: Setting up electric motors
Thanks but I don't have a problem with the flight modes; they all work fine. It's the throttle which starts at 0 (the middle) rather than -100 (fully retarded)

Setting up electric motors
I'm setting up a glider with an electric motor for launch (F5J). Naturally I use the throttle stick but I also use the same stick for flaps using a 'land' flight mode to enable landing flaps and disenable launch, and a 'launch' mode to enable motor and disenable land (all on the SG switch). That all...

PC recognition of Taranis Tx
I appear to have loaded all the drivers correctly and I can see the STM32 BOOTLOADER in the device manager but when I click 'read eeprom' I get a message 'Taranis radio not found, please verify the eeprom disk is connected'. Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?
