Re: DIY Antenna project with FrSky Telemetry

Hi Andy,

thanks for the arduino code. Unfortunately your code is too sophisticated for my knowledge. I never used something else as the arduino IDE.
Maybe I find time to look into that a little deeper next weekend.

Re: DIY Antenna project with FrSky Telemetry

Hello skyscraper,

Does your code parse the standard NMEA messages? If so, I think it would be possible to tap the serial connection between the gps module and the i2c-gps-nav. At least in my setup the i2c-gps-nav is only parsing the serial NMEA messages that are coming from the gps.

Re: DIY Antenna project with FrSky Telemetry

Dear skyscraper, I built a new copter based on multiwii last week - intended for flying fpv. Right now I only have a CL/SPW antenna setup. I'm thinking of building an antenna tracker on the cheap. While searching for a solution that could make use of my existing setup, I found your project. Since I ...

Re: cell- , cur+, mah warning, and maybe a bug?

Hello guys, I'm back to the hobby :-) Is it possible to add the cell- variable? I want a display more or less like it looks when using A1 and A2 instead of FAS and Cel: screenshot-1.png I want to see after the flight what the min voltage was when under load. During the flight I don't have the time t...

Re: Calculation of mAh using FAS

Hello @MikeB,

I just flashed the current openTx firmware on my 9x and couldn't find that feature. Did I miss it or didn't it get submitted?

Best regards,

confirmed, potscroll is working now.

//offtopic:
But now I see another issue: Telemetry data is being displayed even if there is no data available. Since I have a sensor with offset, it now goes crazy... but that should be discussed elsewhere I think.

Re: Calculation of mAh using FAS

I got another statement from frsky support. They said FAS-40 has an error of about 2%, therefor 0,5A is still within the range. I should switch to FAS-100 if I want more accuracy, since that one is hall-based, they say. So it seems FAS-40 doen't have a hall sensor. So it should be a shunt resistor a...

Re: Calculation of mAh using FAS

I asked frsky support if there is a possibility to calibrate the value of FAS-40. They answered it shouldn't need calibration. They even count my device defective since it's 0,5A off. I should contact the seller where I purchased it for RMA. Do you guys think that's worth the hassle? Since there are...

Re: Calculation of mAh using FAS

Since it seems to be a common problem of the FAS current sensors, I see a real need of at least an option to correct the offset in opentx.

Re: Calculation of mAh using FAS

That sounds great, but I also have a FVLS-01 and the FAS-40 is doing the data injection to the telemetry port. But I have to rethink my setup either way, since my multiwii board has a pressure sensor whose data is unused by now. Additionally there is a I²C GPS on it's way. Unfortunately the guys at ...

Re: Calculation of mAh using FAS

Hello Rainer, yes, I'm aware of the fact that such a high efficency is unrealistic, therefore the "Allmost funny". In your measurement with the high capacity battery you get a value around 3% off. In my case it's around 11% off. IMHO that's a little too much since I don't have extreme low ...

Re: cell- , cur+, mah warning, and maybe a bug?

To be honest, I even don't know if that's really possible. The only change would be in line 385 to check not only if hub protocol is activated, but to also check if gps long/lat is even available. A similiar thing is done in line 341 (I think) with an check on the currentSource value itself. My chan...

regarding the unwanted gps long. and lat. line: I just looked through the code at http://code.google.com/p/opentx/source/browse/trunk/src/gui/view_telemetry.cpp At line 385 is says if (IS_USR_PROTO_FRSKY_HUB()) { If there would be an additional check to see if long and lat values are available like ...

Calculation of mAh using FAS

Hello, maybe this specific question got down in my last thread. Using the FAS-40 as amp sensor I get too low mAh readings. Flying until 1200mAh is displayed -> recharging something around 1400mAh. Just now I did another test. When hovering the copter uses about 8 A (Amp value in the telemetry screen...

One thing that's missing with the custom screens is the single voltages of the cells.
Also I like the layout of the default screen. Here is a picture of that screen with some adjustments that I would like to have:

adjust mAhs reading possible?

Hello, is it possible to adjust the computed mAh value? I was flying 'til 1240mAh and the charger put in 1480mAh after the flight. The batteries are brand new. //EDIT: compared to my multimeter the amp reading is 0,5-1A too low all the time. Seems to be offset 0,5A and then there seems to be a linea...

Hello, a few moments ago a FAS-40 and FLVS-01 sensor arrived :) I would like to get a warning on min voltage of the lowest cell and warning on a given threashold of used mAh. Is this possible? If not, then that's another feature request :D //EDIT: got this sorted out with custom switches and special...

Graph of _actual_ curve, resulting through many mixer set?

Hello, the setup of my tx is getting more and more sophisticated :-) One thing I've noticed: In the sticks menu, I can see the curve (i.e. for Thr). On my setup I'm doing additional changes to Thr through some mixers with custom curves (depending on other constraints). Now I would like to see how th...

Hello, I have set up a programmable switch on Thr 0%, AIL 100% to start the timer when I start the rotors at my quadrocopter. Hi Mike, it was nearly that what I wanted. Re: Full Servo throw with trims off the center?

The trimming is just for the tiny drift in the area where it's supposed not to rotate at all. On the outer limits it gets really fast. To be able to do flips with the same speed on either side, the pulse width has to go from 1 to 2ms with max sticks. Thinking about that, I can now see what's causing...

Re: shift a curve up and down by a pot (possible through gva

And that causes the throttle to stay the amount, set by the pot, above minimum throttle. But I need minimum throttle to switch off my copter. I need the possibility to shift the inner 3 points of a curve up and down by a pot.

... Is this becoming my next feature request?...

Re: Full Servo throw with trims off the center?

But the quadrocopter follows a different logic... To roll the same amount on each side, the servo pulse has to stay at 1...2ms, regardless of the trim position.
