That's wierd it powers my uhf module and fpv glasses just fine. A joystick would require less power.

Tested bootloader, works great so far. Discovered one slight issue when in usb mode on bootloader. Do not unplug then turn off TX before usb has unmounted properly. TX will stay in an on state. To get out of this state battery needs to be removed or usb cable needs to be plugged in and then removed ...

Re: Taranis - speaker buzz

Yea, my buzz got worse when I put a toroid on the speaker wire. I never mentioned it before because it made no sense. Possibly because I had to extend the length of the wire to wrap it around toroid 12 times. Putting clip on toroids on the identified wires made no difference to me. Tin foil on back ...

It's probably the type of radio you purchase if you have the skills to fix it yourself. Pity I like the features when it works. My spektrum had no issues, when there was a needed fix spektrum contacted me and sent a courier and fixed then sent back. I cannot even get frisky to accept there is a faul...

Well t9 delivered this morning, really fast, I tested the new board and it gave same results, my testing method is a fail. I swapped the board and still no power. Well I had no luck, Frsky says there is a fault on the power circuit but they will not authorise an exchange unless they get the radio to look at. I have not opened the unit yet as this would remove any right to a warranty replacement.
If I run out of options with robotbirds and frsky I will definitely look into that.
Thanks for the advice.

Well I have had a response from FrSky about the faulty Taranis. Apparently you are not supposed to use the balance lead on Lipo's for power. Re: Taranis DEAD !!!!!

I formatted card and loaded default files on, also tried with and without card.
Tested battery and its fine.
Also tried trainer cable as some radios turn on when trainer cable is attached.
Guess its just a bit of bad luck.
