Re: Megasound in 9XR
The 2X 220 ohm resistors are the existing ones but with their clads that attach to the IC pins being cut. I believe I attached the 470 (500) ohm resistor to one of the wires at the programming jack which was easier than getting to the pad on the board. Since I removed the connection between the 220 ...

Re: FrSky DHT DIY in JR module case?
I'm confused by you having to add a wire? No way should the ground be carried through just with a pressure contact like the V for the electronics. It's unreliable as a solid connection for power ect. I'm glad you added the wire because your tx could have developed trouble as time went on if just th...

Re: FrSky DHT DIY in JR module case?
I removed the "V" and needed to add a separate ground wire attachment between the main PCB and the switch board mounted on the back cover. My 9X was an early one and this might not be the case for later units. Just an FYI ....

Re: Megasound in 9XR
My apologies Istvan for calling you by your town name. After a good night's sleep I'm ready to add Istvan's serial mod. Joao, I'm not sure how to add the pics and comments to the Wiki, or even if I have authorization to do so. Maybe someone can help me with this.

Re: Megasound in 9XR
Problem solved!!! Board is working!!! All my connections as shown in my pictures were correct. However, I did not see the instruction in the photo from the installation link to remove R72. It appears that resistor was either pulling up or pulling down the PB7 pin. But unlike the other pull up/down r...

Re: Megasound in 9XR
OK ... you are correct. There is another picture showing R72 must be removed. I will move the PB7 connection to the way you show it. Thanks for seeing that correction!

Re: Megasound in 9XR
Use all connection for works!!! PB7 (!!) and D0-D3 (also all power pins)! See: http://blog.naver.com/azure93andy/120194875155 The picture in the link you sent shows the 9X board ... not the 9XR board connections. But the backlight works and I get speaker sounds. Power is good to the Megasound board...

Will do but It'll take a few minutes as the Megasound card is buried under the RF interface card.

Re: Megasound in 9XR
I've checked the wiring from D0 to D3 from the Atmega resistors to the Megasound board clads. They are in the correct order, they have continuity from the pins to the clads and no shorts between the wires. I'm wondering if it's in the PB7 pin because on 9X there is a clad next to the Atmega pin. But...

Re: Megasound in 9XR
Also, in Custom Functions, if I select play track and assign it to, lets say the aileron switch, when I move to the track number to play field, It'll only go as high as 255. Is this correct?

Re: Megasound in 9XR
Backlight works fine. I am using R2751 with both voice and audio enabled. I selected OpenTX for 9XR with M128 chip. Dumb question: when you mean root directory on the SD card, I copy and pasted the voice files onto the card in no folder. Is that OK?

Megasound in 9XR
OK ... so I managed to get the Megasound board into the transmitter case and wired correctly. Only problem is that I get no voice. The beeps and sounds work fine. But if I configure a function switch to play a sound such as , ON, play track, 0000 nothing happens when I turn the radio on. Voltages to...

background music question
When using companion 9X with a 9X radio modified for voice with the emartee module, the background music option is grayed out in the custom functions. Is this due to the emartee module not being able to support this option? Also, I saw in one of the config videos that sound prompts would stop by pre...

Re: Megasound in 9XR
I can't believe after all the reading I've done and still missed that thread! Thanks ... OK, so now I have new questions since I'm technologically challenged. Re: Megasound in 9XR
Thanks to both of you for the response. I'm not so sure it will be easy to remote mount the micro SD holder ... I'll research for an extension cable similar to the one shown in the Audimega project. I tried to fit the Megasound board along the side as shown in the pics but I believe the Megasound bo...

Megasound in 9XR
I'm still trying to fit the Megasound module into the 9XR case and even with a shoehorn and a bucket of grease I can't find room! One option is to remove 1/2 of the bottom of the battery tray (since I'm using two Lithium 14500 batteries for transmitter power) and raise it up a bit for clearance. Has...

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
Thanks for the input. I thought I wouldn't have enough room for everything but I fitted the MP3 module and interface between the gimbals and managed to get the serial converter for the FrSky telemetry, DHT module, SmartieParts board and haptic all inside. I hope to use all the features.

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
Quick question for those who have done voice mods: are you using only one speaker and eliminating the speaker/haptic mod? Or ar you using 2 speakers? Or are you using one speaker with steering diodes?

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
I'm still waiting for the encoders to arrive. then I will mod the other radio with the audio module and the encoder. Probably get also rid of the EL backlight and install a HK LED instead.. That was my first radio so will have to clean up the telemetry mod and make the programming cables removable ...
