Re: flatpak for Companion?

Many thanks @kalle123 and @kilrah. @kalle123 I have come across ailen before but I've never tried it. It converts .deb to .rpm though, which is not flatpak. Different format again, and it seems Fedora (and Red Hat) is moving away from rpm and towards flatpak. It is still possible to install rpms on ...

flatpak for Companion?

Hi All, I have been using Fedora Silverblue for a couple of weeks. It seems pretty good but most common user software is installed as flatpaks. Companion isn't available as a flatpak, only a .deb, so I have been trying to build a flatpak from the deb. Same data, different format. I have got as far g...

Re: Using FrSky S6R with ersky9x

Hi Mike, Thanks for the quick response. Please don't sweat it on my account. I'm using Windows in Virtualbox to update my SnR receivers, but it would be nice to be able to do it under Linux. I meant the post to just be a heads up that it's not working under the latest version of Mint (and presumably...

Can't write firmware to 9XR Pro with Companion under Linux

Hi All, I am trying to write firmware to my 9XR Pro but I get an error every time. The error is "Error: Unknown arguments: \USBserial\COM23 at91sam3s4-9x /tmp/8615-temp.tcl". When this error is displayed the Write Firmware to Radio dialog box freezes. Mint asks me if I'd like to terminate ...

Re: Using FrSky S6R with ersky9x

Hi MIke, just stumbled across this post while researching another problem and noticed your program SportSet1Linux. I downloaded it and tried to run it, but got an error message telling me that libQt5PrintSupport.so.5 could not be found. I checked my installation and I found I have libQt5PrintSupport...

Re: eepskye & eepe binaries for linux won't work in ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerux). How to build eepskye & eepe

Had a go at this but ran into a problem. I've never used QTCreator before, so I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I got as far as importing the project into QTCreator, found my way to Projects, but there are no build targets defined there. It also told me there were no "kits", whatev...

Re: 9XR Pro forgets radio setup

Hi Miguel, I downloaded both deb packages from www.er9x.com. I am using Mint 18.3, the latest version which is based on Ubuntu 16.04. Mint versions 17.x were based on Ubuntu 14.04, which included libqt4-gui. However it has been deprecated in 16.04, and hence Mint version 18.x. I've been keeping half...

Re: 9XR Pro forgets radio setup

Thanks for the quick reply João. No I haven't moved anything yet, I haven't even taken the back off the 9XR Pro. I don't know about the rtc battery, I'll check it tomorrow (it might not even exist). The reason I flashed it with OpenTX is because I know it. I've been using a Taranis for about four ye...

9XR Pro forgets radio setup

Hi All, Been a happy Taranis user for some years, but couldn't resist a 9XR Pro from HK for $AUD38. Anyway I wanted the innards for a DIY transmitter project. The first thing I did was flash it with OpenTx 2.2.1. After some playing I noticed that the radio setup (date/time, channel order, speaker vo...

Re: Open-Tx/Companion 2 for Linux

WOW! That was quick! Thanks Kalle123.
I've solved my problem however, dumb user error... I had a shortcut setup on my desktop to Companion, which pointed to the old version... When I started the new version from the start menu, guess what, there was 2.1.3.
Apologies for wasting your time.

Re: Open-Tx/Companion 2 for Linux

I see this is an old thread but maybe someone out there will see this. I have installed the deb package for OpenTX Companion V2.1.3 in Linux Mint. Works a treat, no problem. However when I start Companion I get a dialog popup saying there is a newer version available. I have not been able to find a ...

Re: Possible 9X upgrade route

Thanks Kilrah. The rotary encoder I have is the one supplied by Brent, it doesn't have the four buttons around the outside. It looks like a normal knob but you can press it to activate a momentary switch. I don't have a working 9x to play with so it's a bit hard to imagine. If I understand what you ...

Re: Possible 9X upgrade route

Could someone point me in the direction of an explanation of what the "7 way nav switch" is, how it works and what, if anything, it replaces? And where I can get one? I bought a board and the rotary encoder, but I don't think that is the same thing as it is not really 7 anything. It only h...

Re: Wanted Kraft schematics

I guess the easy option is to rip the guts out of it and replace it with a 9x board. Seriously considering exactly that. It would be nice to keep it all original and all (especially as one the same but complete with servos and receiver etc, recently sold on Ebay for over two grand!) but I bought it ...

Re: Wanted Kraft schematics

Hi SM, I'm an idiot. Not Kraft. Futaba. It does have a trainer port, a six pin din plug. I thought there might be a PPM signal there but I've got no way of knowing. Have to explore the PC/oscillascope thingy you mentioned in some of your other posts. Found this link a while back http://www.rcunivers...

Re: DJT no longer fits the TH9

Got a similar problem, but trying to fit my DJT module to a (very) old JR transmitter. The only way I can do it is to grind away the plastic on the module, but I can't figure out how to remove the circuit board from the module case. Is this possible, or do I just have to be very, very careful with t...

Re: Wanted Kraft schematics

Hi Guys, Just discovered this forum and this thread. Very happy indeed as I have been trying to find out about converting my old Kraft FP-T8SSAP single stick to 2.4 Meg since I got it a couple of months ago. All the advice I've been given is that it can't be done as it's PCM. So I spent a lot of tim...
