Re: Christmas is coming
The amount of work involved in testing each board for full and proper operation is daunting....even with some automated testing , you still need to check the USB and SD card operation, sound output , RTC , soft power operation ....both types of LCDs , key switches. To get real price breaks on the p...

Re: SBUS does not work
Only input I have is that, at first I had some issues in getting the channels on the decoders set with the channel changer, and had similar symptoms. Once I got the feel of it, and got the channels properly set, no more issues (yet). First thing I had to get in my brain was to select the channel on ...

Re: Christmas is coming
For the 9X replacement boards (I could use a couple, and know several others who would like one), it seems to me that a licensing agreement, where SkyNorth gets a royalty on boards sold, and HK gets them built and sells them, would be a good deal for both sides. Then, those who prefer the 9X form fa...

Re: taranis battery
I understand, an Eneloop set with 6AAs will be sent out by FRSky soon. So the best options, IMHO, are to build a pack with 6 AA Eneloops yourself that match the format of the original, or wait a week or so and buy them already made when they become more widely available (unless you are near T-9, the...

Re: Wizard/Template editor?
Due to the huge number of variables, I believe it would be simpler to do with formulae from a wizard.
That is, add code to the wizard to enable a newb to be able to use the wiz for his ship/whatever.
Cheers,
Wreno

Re: Wizard/Template editor?
Hi Rob, Yes, and that is what I am asking about about - I would like to add other options by editing it. The wizard and templates cover lots of stuff, but mainly planes and helis. No boats, no cars, multi-function trucks or construction vehicles, certainly no multi-turreted warships, don't see any t...

Wizard/Template editor?
Is there a wizard or template editor of some type? Any easy way to get into making templates/wizards for others? Reason - there are wizards for planes and helis, etc. but not for warship combat. I can, of course, just share setups with others, but a wizard would be a good thing. I think I asked this...

Re: may be a defective potentiator
Check out what the pot is doing with a voltmeter or ohmmeter, then you can isolate whether the pot is the issue. If the pot is doing what it is supposed to and not defective, and all connections seem OK on testing, then look into the programming (the servo limits set, mixes, curves, etc.) - lots of ...
Re: 9XR parts
Wonder what displays/backlights fit (don't see them included or available separately). Have ordered the board, though. Great price to tinker with for a custom TX build. If he display/backlight is included, even better - I can really go to town. UPDATE: Have the board in. Nope, no display, and none s...

Re: What Receivers work with the Taranis
And, of course, this is just with the onboard (built in) TX board, no module in the bay, right?
When you add a module in the bay, changes the compatability list to what is also compatible with that TX module (Futaba, other FRSky, FlySky, etc.).
Cheers,
Wreno

Re: Using 2 different TX modules....
I have set up my 9XR to use 2 modules, one in the baqy and one through the Futaba Trainer port. I began with a FRSky module in the bay, bound to a FRSky non-telemetry 8ch RX. First test was using a Tactics module at the trainer port, giving me 6 extra channels, for a 14 channel radio, with 2 differe...

Re: 3 position switch mod. 9x and Taranis
You are close. The software is arranged to inquire whether a switch is on or off. It does the tests you describe looking for A0 active and A2 inactive = A0 position, both inactive = A1 position, A0 inactive and A1 active = A2 position. Both being active is therefore not valid and will be treated as...

Re: 3 position switch mod. 9x and Taranis
Yes, you could add some push buttons, and NO the current software does NOT handle both on at the same time, they will BOTH be ignored. As a teaser, the Taranis, with XJT tx module and X8R receiver module should support serial data transmission from the Tx to the Rx, using the S-ports of both. Mike....

Re: Using telemetry for waypoint navigation
I think at the moment that is done using a controller board with a GPS system in the model.. And if the model loses the signal it will automatically return to the start point.. You can also activate it in case you can't see the model anymore.. Obviously would not help if your ship sinks  j...

Using telemetry for waypoint navigation
Just curious. Perhaps I missed it, but is there currently a way to use the GPS navigation telemetry do do waypoint navigation or return to home features? If not, is this under consideration for future development? If so, is an RSSI limit override being implemented so, if the waypoint is inadvertentl...

Re: 3 position switch mod. 9x and Taranis
Yup... That would be fine... Don't know about the winch launch though.. I would expect a nail file holder. Doing this RC stuff wrecks my nails. Just realised that the OP is thinking of modding the Taranis to do all of this, rather than the 9X ... It would be a lot cheaper with the 9X... Make sure y...

Re: 3 position switch mod. 9x and Taranis
Rob, I mentioned the possibility of modding the pots to give you even more buttons (you could go up to 24 buttons that way, if you can also mod the 3 position switches). J.P., Yep, you can do a lot with the CSs, I am using them in my programming already. The point is, some of these guys go to great ...

3 position switch mod. 9x and Taranis
In my particular niche (model warship combat), it some users really like momentary push-buttons. So, the question is, can you take a 3 position switch and replace it with 2 momentaries (or tie a momentary to each of the outer leads and together at the center lead to allow a momentary with a switched...

Re: Timer use in Turnigy 9XR or other
Oh, I do know of Companion9x and have it installed alongside EEPE to play in both worlds, just happen to be devoting most of my time to EEPE/ER at the moment with occasional excursions into Companion/Open to see if/how to implement the same "function I just figured out" and to see if there...

Re: Timer use in Turnigy 9XR or other
Mike, As for the Open features I am liking: On the curves, you can adjust both X and Y if you want. Since some of mine come in 1/3's of other increments, it really helps to be able to adjust both. for instance one potential curve i would use is is -100=+33 to -33,=+67 then -32=0, +32=0, +33=-100 to ...

Thanks for the input. And, especially for the detailed mixes and explanation, Mike - need to ponder that through a bit more and perhaps flow-chart it. Re: Timer use in Turnigy 9XR or other
Yep, I know Greg, and his fire control project takes a substantially different tack than my approach. I have not heard if he is down to timings yet, but he is trying to customize specific firmware (using trigonometry, etc) to do what I am attempting to do with the off-the-shelf stock firmware. Also,...

Re: Timer use in Turnigy 9XR or other
That is correct - STOCK firmware, but developing under EEPE. neither er9x nor open9x loaded in the radio. Stock firmware not downloaded into EEPE, either. I am using EEPE to simulate, then converting to the stock Turnigy 9XR by programming it in under the radio's interface. I have not yet tried burn...

Timer use in Turnigy 9XR or other
What I would like to do, but have, so far, been unable (and found no joy in a search). Use a momentary, like the trainer switch, to control, say, a servo on channel 7. On hitting the switch, I want the servo to go to 100% for about .5 sec then have the switch disabled for a period (say 7.5 sec). In ...

Flysky CT-6B version?
Just curious as to the possibility of a Flysky CT-6B version. Not sure of the processor chip used in the Flysky CT-6B, but the programming cable is readily available, and field programmers have been made for the serial interface. If the microprocessor has the oomph (especially if it were the same as...
