Re: Taranis Drive not Available on Windows 10?
STM bootloader is NOT used when the radio is on. That was one of the symptoms I experienced with the slow SD card, it would automagicly shut off the radio when plugged into a USB port which then loads the STM Bootloader driver in Windows 10 (because the radio is now off). And as I pointed out befor...

Re: Taranis Drive not Available on Windows 10?
Check the Class of your SD card (usually a tiny 'C' with a number in it, or if it's a tiny 'U' with a number in it then it's a UHS card which is a Class 10 or above). If there is no Class or UHS # on the card then it's a Class 2 card, the slowest. The SD card that came with the original Taranis was ...

Horus "OpenTX" Bling
I was able to order a Horus radio from horusrc.com during their recent holiday sale (first week in Oct) and got their 'Personalized Logo Laser Engraving Service' on the radio for free, so I decided to do an OpenTX logo. So now that they are off holiday and filling orders again (yep, they had it in s...

FrSky 6 Position Mode/Flap Switch
Just picked up a FrSky 6 Position Mode/Flap Switch from Aloft Hobbies and was wondering if anyone had installed one yet on their Taranis. It looks like it'll solder right in place of the existing S1 or S2 pot, even comes with it's own knob that matches the existing knobs. Has anyone installed one ye...

Re: Haters gonna Hate FRSKY Vs the DX9i
Futaba is popular out at our field mainly due to 2 things: Spectrum owners tend to have more crashes (less so with more recent Spectrum equipment) and the Futaba wireless training system. So most newbies are started on Futaba and people being around that can help keeps them there for a while as they...

Here are some optional additions to the IVONA Emma sound pack. There are two archives, one is aircraft names that are spoken when the model is selected. The other has two sound files for indicating whether the model uses an internal RF module or an external RF module (and is module agnostic) and can...

Mine drifts too, but slowly, roughly 2 minutes a month or so. Having it reset from Companion9x would be a nice feature!

Here's images for a couple of planes I fly, the TechOne Neptune EDF wing and the SIG Kadet Senior. The Neptune image will also work for the HobbyKing Sonic 64, which is the exact same wing. I did these in Photoshop CS2 (a free download from Adobe these days). I resize the canvas to a 1:2 aspect, the...

In a similar vein I was able to resolve my problems with the drivers under Window 7 64-bit by running DriveCleanup to remove errant and old USB device entries (you can get it here , lower down on the page). You basically leave any system USB devices attached (mouse, keyboard) and unplug all others. ...

I really like the "en_ivo_emma" sound pack for the Taranis, but some of the phrases didn't sound right. So I recreated several of the phrases and tweaked them to sound right and added a "tada.wav" start-up file as well (and 2 alts for the tada.wav). I also changed the flaps1.wav ...

Re: Taranis, Anylink and FlySky RF modules
It will be "mostly" OK, but you still need to review everything. For example the switches on the radio are completely different, so anything that uses switches will be wrong. I use the switches mostly for dual rates and throttle kill, so that should be easy to reconcile. I assume I would ...

Taranis, Anylink and FlySky RF modules
Hi! I finally got my Taranis ordered this weekend and just received a shipping notice on it! :D So I have some questions about RF modules, though I did search for the info and was not able to find an answer. [Wanted] FrSky TAS-01 Telemetry Triaxial Acceleration Sensor
Hi! I'm looking for a FrSky TAS-01 Telemetry Triaxial Acceleration Sensor, which it seems FRSky has discontinued and is out of stock everywhere I've looked, and was wondering if anyone had one they are willing to part with. I'm located in the US, let me know.
Thanks,
James

Will OpenTX be supporting the FlySky FS-i10 due out soon?
There isn't much information on it that I've been able to find other than pics of testing at the FlySky website.
I'm just curious and hoping maybe someone has more information on this new radio.

Re: Tx battery bar ?
... So... 10.4v / 8.8v sound ok? I think that'd be a real good starting point for NiMH or NiCAD, with a low battery alarm around 8.9v or 9.0v. Unlike lithium batteries (LiPo, LiFe) the voltage on the NiMH doesn't directly correspond to a particular mah still left in the battery, so a person using a...

Re: Tx battery bar ?
This is great to finally have! But rather than the calibrated battery meter discussed in this thread, they chose to implement a simpler battery meter that should still be very serviceable if you set it up right. When you select the battery meter from Companion9x it adds a battery meter to the home s...

Re: TX Module info attached to model name
What we actually need is a way to tell if the right model is selected with frsky telemetering, which could also show if the right tx model was selected if the module used telemetering in the first place. FRSky is doing that with their newer PXX modules I believe, though that doesn't really solve th...

TX Module info attached to model name
I just loaded the new firmware and am loving the battery meter (once I realized it's just a basic meter and not calibrated in any meaningful way I set the range to 9.0 - 10.0 for my LiFe battery with a low voltage alarm of 9.1v and expect that to be fairly useful since that's the range of useful pow...

Re: openX9D
Of course, the name of companion9x could just be changed to 'Bob', I don't think that's being used in the computer industry anymore... ;) But I did vote for 'OpenTx Manager' in the poll. Succinct yet very descriptive and lends itself to using either '.otx' or 'otm' for a filetype that makes sense wh...
