Re: Unable upgrade to 2.2.2 on LinuxMint due to dependency error
I decided to upgrade the Linux Mint installation to 19. That distro apparently has the updated version of the needed file. Everything works fine now. The only downside is that Mint doesn't provide the ability to simply "upgrade" the installation, you either have to have multiple versions o...

Re: Unable upgrade to 2.2.2 on LinuxMint due to dependency error
I am running Mint 18.03 But of course I ran sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade so I should have the latest packages that the Mint distro provides. Perhaps I can add the package manually if I can find it. Any ideas? Thanks!

Unable upgrade to 2.2.2 on LinuxMint due to dependency error
I wish to upgrade from OpenTX 2.2.1 to OpenTX 2.2.2 on my Linux Mint system. It is a small MS Surface 3 tablet that I have converted to Linux and take to the field, primarily to read telemetry. However, after downloading the "companion22_2.2.2_amd64.deb" package and attempting to install, ...

Inflight adjustable needle valve ("the perfect needle")
There is a need in fuel powered, RC pylon racing (events 424, 426, 422) for an in-flight automatically adjusting needle valve. Such a device would most likely read RPM (probably with a Hall effect sensor) and EGT (a thermistor?) and make MINOR adjustments to the mixture to achieve max RPM, without g...

S6R on V-tail racer
I am attempting (without success) to set up an S6R receiver on a Viper Q-500 quickie 500 racer with my A01 X9D Taranis. The S6R has not had the firmware upgraded yet but it has been properly set up with S6RConfig.exe for a V-tail airplane and it reads back as being set. Initially, I set up my transm...

Re: 6-pos switch with A01 Taranis and Companion 2.1.x ?
Like Rosanna Rosanna Danna said: "Never mind..." I figured it out. For some reason, the hardware general settings in 2.1.x did not bring across the fact that S2 is a 6-position switch from the 2.0.20 version. I edited the general settings and lo and behold, the S21-S26 entries magically re...

6-pos switch with A01 Taranis and Companion 2.1.x ?
I have an early A01 Taranis X9D and I have modified it by replacing the S2 pot with the 6-position switch. I use it with APM 2.6 and PixHawk flight controllers to control the flight modes of the autopilot. I calibrated and re-mapped the positions of the switch using the Special Functions Override fe...

Re: Model Artwork for Taranis
Here are a few Electric Formula One (EF-1) airplanes. Some are better than others. Edit: I made a mistake in the naming convention of some of these files. The file name must not be more than 10 symbols long and have no imbedded blank spaces. Some of these file names need to be changed to make them w...

Re: S6R PC configuration STK USB adapter
There is most likely a "bug" in S6RConfig.exe from FrSky. Because I have so many devices on my machine, it automatically assigned the USB-STK to COM13, which was the first open port. S6RConfig could NOT find the device although S8RConfig.exe did. When I forced the USB-STK to be on COM2, S6...

Re: S6R PC configuration STK USB adapter
Thanks Mike! I have been reading the various configurations that people have been using to have CH12 available, but safe. I am familiar with the ability to change alignment parameters using S6RConfig.exe, but hopefully that won't be necessary I may incorporate the remote self test function on my bir...

Re: S6R PC configuration STK USB adapter
Amazingly enough, I am "confused" about the self check/self test function using Ch12 or the bind button. Is it necessary to perform this function EACH AND EVERY TIME that you fly, OR is is a ONE TIME ONLY check (which way is up) with the receiver installed in the model and level? If the re...

Re: STK tool works for upgrade but not for config
OK, here is what I found out. Because I have a computer with a LOT of devices plugged into it, when I installed the "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge" i.e. the FrSky STK S.Port Tool Kit, my Win7 computer automatically assigned it to COM13 because that was the first open COM port on t...

STK tool works for upgrade but not for config
My STK tool arrived and I am attempting to use it to upgrade the firmware and set the stabilization configuration on my S6R. The Win7 device manager shows that the tool has the driver installed and is operating properly on COM13. Using the frsky_update_sport_rev14.exe I was able to update the firmwa...
